Guest guest
I used a notebook to make my son's book and it has been very helpful. I learned about it from the late talker book. Guest guest
We started with a Communication Book way back when almost eight years ago when my daughter was in Early Intervention. With 3-4 therapists coming 6-7x per week--they used it as a way to communicate with each other about how she was progressing in each of their areas: OT PT SP and Special Ed. When we moved onto prek--it became the same tool for the teachers and therapists to communicate with me, especially since she was considered non-verbal during 2.5 yrs she was in the prek. We didnt continue with it once she entered K. But its great to look back now at the EI Communication Book! I have exact dates of when she reached goals and milestones to look back on! Guest guest
Hi Randi! Yes photographs and notes and it's like the world's best diary. Keep in mind you are not the only one that is supposed to add photos- the professionals can and should add them as well. I'd say make sure they are stapled in -these books get used a LOT!! Any tape will come undone and even the staples work to a point but you have to be careful not the rip the paper. But yes LOVE these books. Below is information about the importance of a communication book from our apraxia.org page
