Guest guest
Oh my! What a week! How horrible! NO--wait until they are feeling better. It's totally ok to wait until they are healthy again. That is the best time to remove the binky. Your family doesn't need one more thing right now. Also, I would recommend buying crib tents to keep her IN her crib. Do you still have the crib up? You mentioned " transitioning " to a toddler bed. Have u already done this? In light of her being sick I would go back to the crib. A crib tent is awesome! I used them w/my twins until after 3yrs. It is a mesh that goes under the mattress & uses poles to arch up over the top of crib. A child can stand up but not get out. Most of my friends w/twins used them. Keep us posted. GREAT! And then... sickness struck... my daughter (will turn two soon) was taken by ambulance to the hospital last week with pneumonia, RSV and double ear infection. My son, three years old, has RSV and the double ear infections too. BOTH USE binkies -- and both have speech apraxia (still not completely certain about my daughter but some symptoms -- at least a delay going on) To further complicate matters, during this sickness week, my daughter figured out BOTH how to climb out of her crib and open doors (even with the safety knobs ON!) So, she is now " traveling " during the night. Not sure if this is due to the sickness or the transition to her new toddler bed. Needless to say... we're not getting much sleep anyways... QUESTION: Do we just go ahead and add one more thing and take away the binkies (cut the tips) while they are sick and really fussy anyhow??? Or do we prolong the madness and go full force when they are finished with the sickness?
