Guest guest
This December, the American Academy of Optometry released a peer review study demonstrating the efficacy of vision therapy on convergence insufficiency. Journal of the American Academy of Optometry December 2010 Vol. 87, Issue 12 pp E985-E1002 " Vision Therapy in Adults with Convergence Insufficiency: Clinical and Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging Measures " Summary of results: Those who participated in vision therapy " significantly decreased " nearpoint convergence, recovery point of convergence and near dissociated phoria. Positive fusional vergence, average peak velocity from 4 degree convergence steps, and the amount of functional activity within the frontal areas, cerebellum and brain stem " significantly increased. " " Vision therapy was associated with and may have evoked clinical and cortical activity changes.
