Guest guest
We started Nutriveda on 3/10. At first I was discouraged because while my 2 year old daughter loved Nutriveda from the start,I was having a hard time getting my son who has apraxia to drink it... or eat it... in anything! After a bit of bribery -- which I am not fond of -- he started drinking it after I " doctored " it up a bit with Hershey's syrup. Since neither one of them had tasted chocolate milk before, that's what I call it. They both have it in the morning and if there is any left to drink up, they have it at lunchtime and can " earn " M & M's when they finish it. Again, not fond of bribery but it has been the only way I can ensure that the Nutriveda is finished each day. So, what have we seen? My son is sharing more information verbally... is putting finishing sounds on his words and is able to say some things he wasn't able to say before (like " Mommy " ). He is also able to whisper... He said " Daddy, red car, back home " with just a little separation between the words! WOW! I am also seeing a surge of age-appropriate naughtiness... which I am hoping is just a phase... which is coupled with an increase in some sensory behaviors. My daughter, who has neurologic symptoms with another origin -- at just two years old this month -- is starting to say her A,B,C's on her own and count to five...we were thinking she was possibly apraxic too, but now we know differently.
