I believe that Atkins actually was diagnosed with pericarditis - an inflammation

of the pericardium usually caused by a bacterial infection, although it may be

viral in origin. He did not have a 'heart attack'.

Interesting about Atkins and pericarditis. All this talk on the

radio and TV about the health diet Guru having a heart attack and it ends

up being something non-coronary related.

Having had viral pericaditis bout 1.5 years ago, I know the

symptoms can look very much like a heart attack. It was the biggest thing

in my life that got me into the Walford diet.
