Guest guest
hi Dina, Thanks for your response. Dr. Huron is a developmental ped in the ph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital. (her card says she is the Section Chief, Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics and Director, Institute for Child Development). I believe Dr. is part of the Tomorrow's Children Institute for Cancer and Blood Disorders (also part of Hackensack U). do you remember the name of the dev ped you saw?? thanks again, Rima > > HI All, > > just took my son there and have mixed feelings about her > exam/assessment. looking for any input since i'm questioning everything > these days - she may be fabulous and i'm just paranoid! > > thanks, > Rima > > <> > > >
Guest guest
Rima- how old is your child? what issues do YOU believe your child to have? we saw dr huron two years back, she was okay for a first run, but I always feel the need for a second, third..lol..opinion. She grouped much of what the other therapists had said in their eval and went with that in her report. Her reports are vague (or perhaps my child too young under age 2). On the other hand, everyone raves about her and even other hospitals think she is fine. Guess depends on what you are looking for in your report. Do you want to detail more for what you are looking for or what happened? or didnt happen? Guest guest
Hi - I don't remember the name but it was a woman of indian decent. I didn't like her. I remember my son was crying the whole time and she proceeded to try to give me a diagnosis. I don't know how any doctor can give you a diagnosis within the first hour of seeing a child, if all that child is doing is crying. To this day he does not like going to the dr. and I don't blame him. My son has seen Dr. , but he doesn't take my insurance anymore. Guest guest
Thanks Ivy. That's exactly what i thought about her - vague and seems to group what's already been said. She did offer a little more verbally, but i don't have a report yet (too soon). to answer your questions, he is almost 16 months old now. I believe he MAY have apraxia (which is why i'm on this listserv). still hoping to hear otherwise, but getting what services i can in the meantime. It's so frustrating that no one will talk about apraxia at his age. is there a developmental ped you would recommend? thanks again, Rima > > > > > > HI All, > > > > > > just took my son there and have mixed feelings about her > > > exam/assessment. looking for any input since i'm questioning everything > > > these days - she may be fabulous and i'm just paranoid! > > > > > > thanks, > > > Rima > > > > > > <> > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Hi Dina, i don't think this is the same dev ped. Dr. Huron was very good with my son and was frank about not making a diagnosis at that time (maybe it'll be in the report? we'll see...) thanks again for your responses, Rima > > HI All, > > just took my son there and have mixed feelings about her > > exam/assessment. looking for any input since i'm questioning > > everything these days - she may be fabulous and i'm just paranoid! > > thanks, Rima > > < > > <> > > > > >
