Guest guest
I generally start my day with a smoothie. I use a banana, an orange and half a cup of either blueberries, blackberries or strawberries. Then I pour in soy milk or oat milk to get the total volume up to about a pint. To get some additional vitamins, I then put in some dried skim milk, wheat germ, brewers yeast and sometimes ground flax meal. The problem is that I don't really know what proportions I should use of the dry ingredienses, and I'm not sure what the fat content looks like. Ideally, I'd like to pre-mix all the dry ingredienses and keep them in a box in my refrigerator. I got the original recipe for this smoothie from " The Anti-Aging Plan " but unfortunately I no longer have a copy of the book. Is this a good mix or should I add or remove something? What proportions do you think I should use? Sincerely, Ake Brannstrom
Guest guest
Your drinks sound wonderful. Spinach and dairy products wouldn't be harmful to eat together, of course. IF I'm correct (and I might be misunderstanding), elements in the spinach and dairy products might prevent optimum use of the calcium and iron. Spinach isn't quite as nutritious as I used to think it was, but it's delicious! (I never heard anything about spinach and dairy - there is so much I don't know!) We made them for St 's Day and called them Leprechaun Smoothies. I like to put frozen mango chunks and bananas with spinach. Sometimes I add ground flax, but nothing else. The bananas make it a nice thick texture so it feels like we are eating milkshakes. I dont want my smoothies to get too sugary with added fruit juices and such. So far I use fresh or frozen fruit.. I've tried also avocado with mango and fage yogurt... Also tried adding spinach (which is yummy). I also use hemp fiber powder. Any suggestions would be great! Esp tips for adding veggies into a smoothie without it tasting like tomato juice.
