Guest guest
Not sure if this is helpful but we had ours done at Hackensack Hospital, and the doctor was wonderful. If NJ would work for you, I'll track down his name. DD was 3 at the time. > > Does anyone have a recommendation in NY for Genetic Testing for an almost 3 year old? Looking for a doctor that has a kind bedside manner (with both the child and parents) and is also very thorough. And ideally a bit of a " outside the box " thinker? We have had some basic genetic testing done in the past but it is time to get a more comprehensive evaluation done. > > Manhattan, Brooklyn or Long Island is ok. > > Many thanks, > The Family > slopefam11215@... >
Guest guest
We started out at Westchester Med Center--they were fine but not reliable. We've been taking my 8dd to Columbia/Pres for the past six years! I can assure you they are very thorough there and the best bedside manner I've seen in many years--my daughter hugs her doctor every time we see him and thats only once a year! They see kids in Stanley Childrens Hosp. http://childrensnyp.org/mschony/genetics-clinical.html > > Does anyone have a recommendation in NY for Genetic Testing for an almost 3 year old? Guest guest
I am new to all of this and my son has strange lab work - we have done basic genetic testing and it showed nothing - what other genetic testing should we look into? > > > > Does anyone have a recommendation in NY for Genetic Testing for an almost 3 year old? Guest guest
What do you mean by strange lab work? If you mean blood work--you might want to follow up with a Ped Endocronologist. My daughters Endo and the NYC Genetics doctor work very close together. Are you in NY? > > I am new to all of this and my son has strange lab work - we have done basic genetic testing and it showed nothing - what other genetic testing should we look into? >
Guest guest
I am in Oklahoma. We are working with a DAN doctor in Dallas and a pediatric GI doctor in Boston. My son stopped eating about a year ago. He has had a parasite, major yeast overgrowth, he has high mercury, low b12, high copper, low zinc, etc. the only thing he has developmentally is a speech delay and the not eating. he also has reflux and suffers from almost chronic constipation. we are just trying to figure out what all is going on. they are thinking a hyper autoimmune response causing severe inflammation internally but not sure yet. > > > > I am new to all of this and my son has strange lab work - we have done basic genetic testing and it showed nothing - what other genetic testing should we look into? > > >
