As long as the school SLP documents via testing & report where your child is

functioning at now, that will help her have a starting point for therapy and

help u advocate for other or more services if he doesn't make progress. IF he

has not had receptive/ expressive language testing AND he will cooperate with

it, then I would recommend it for the same above reasons. If the school SLP does

not recommend it, then ask her to state why not in the report & discuss his

informal language skills. Since I don't know your son, I would defer to the pvt

& school SLPs who know him well to decide on the testing. If your school SLP

doesn't want to test but your pvt SLP feels testing would be good, have her do

it.
