Guest guest
For us, the hyper behavior did take several weeks to diminish, but it did! My son Liam is still more active and alert than he was prior to NV, but for us that's a good thing. You might try a good calcium/magnesium supplement, if he's not already on one. Mag is great for relaxation and a lot of people use it at bedtime for that reason, but it will also cause loose stools if you give too much. We use Blue Bonnet (bought from Whole Foods), which is a liquid, but you can also get a powdered product called Natural Calm (either with or without calcium). My kids love the berry flavored Blue Bonnet, or the raspberry lemonade Natural Calm. I give 1/2 TBSP of Blue Bonnet in the a.m. and then again at dinner, which is less than our doctor recommended (one kid is dairy intolerant and the other will have a bone graft done in a few years, so both have been put on extra cal/mag), but to bowel tolerance for them. Another thing you could try is additional L-Theanine, with doctor approval. There's already some in NV, but perhaps more would help? L-Theanine is the smooth muscle relaxant that is found naturally in green tea. Dianne > > Hi, > > I have had my 8 year old son on nutriiveda for a few weeks now. Guest guest
I just started taking some electrolytes in my first cup of water and it seems to be helping. It's only been two days, but I feel really alert. Drinking alot of water helps as well. Liralen > > > > Hi, > > > > I have had my 8 year old son on nutriiveda for a few weeks now. He is a child who had been diagnosed on the autistic spectrum at 2, lost his diagnosis at 3.5, and continues to have lingering deficits particularly in the area of motor planning. So...we saw some gains on NV, particularly in coordination and physical strength. But after a few days we also noticed agitation and some overstimulation. At what point might these unpleasant side effects subside, and in the meantime is there anything to counteract them? Thanks,
