Most parents are checking with their child's doctors for any supplements other

than nutriiveda and fish oils but as nutriiveda is whole food nutrition it

replaces a daily multi vitamin and has made it super simple for those of us

using it. And being so simple the testimonies are hard to believe -until you

try it http://pursuitofresearch.org/testimonials.html In most cases it's being

reported doctors are recommending or allowing the use of the fish oils and

nutriiveda unless one has a medical or nutritional needs outside of the norm.

Blood or neurotransmitter tests are recommended for those children on

medications due to what happened with (you can read here

http://littlemermaidmelanie.wordpress.com/category/ayurveda-journal )And here is

a group of metabolic tests one neuroMD is running from a recent message. Your

child's doctor may suggest other tests instead or as well and in many cases

there are children in this group who don't go through any metabolic testing -but

I highly suggest if nothing else -testing for carnitine levels!:

Hi All - My son, 3, yesterday was diagnosed autistic and having hypotonia. We

give him Fish Oils and NV and have had significant progress with both. His Dev

pediatrician just recommended metabolic testing due to the hypotonia - one of

these being amino acids (plasma amino acids and urine amino & organic acids),

which I note is also in NV (and probably other things they're testing for).

Unfortunately I didn't see the list of the tests that she's giving until after

leaving and it didn't even occur to me to ask whether NV would affect the test

results. I was just curious if anyone has done this testing or has an idea of

whether this would be an issue - or perhaps I should discuss it directly with

her.

Thanks!

In case it helps, here is the list of tests she recommended:

Urine amino & organic acids

lactate

pyruvate

comprehensive metabolic profile

plasma amino acids

CBC

CGH/Microarray

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Both fish oils and nutriiveda support the metabolic system and both contain
essential nutrients. Fish oils contain the essential fatty acids and nutriiveda
contains all of the essential amino acids. Essential means that the body needs
them but can't assimilate them so one needs to consume them.
As a group due to reports within days for those of us who tried speak which
contains mega vitamin E and K (search " hypervitaminosis e " and hypervitaminosis
k " ) we do not recommend even trying speak. In fact it's why I was so quick to
embrace a balanced nutrition from whole foods.
Each ingredient in nutriiveda is certified as a food, so unlike supplementing
with various nutrients you are providing a synergistically blended whole food,
100 percent all natural, gluten, casein, fat, sodium, caffeine free protein that
provides ALL of the essential amino acids and nutrients the body needs per
serving formulated by leading doctors.
Here are parent/doctor theories as to why it's working
http://pursuitofresearch.org/science.html
This is a great page to learn more about what type of results are being reported
http://pursuitofresearch.org/testimonials.html
And for those who are already using nutriiveda please take the survey here so we
can share with professionals to further help our children
If you have any questions after reading up on this please let me know!
Our DD's doctor did not recommend metabolic testing. Should I ask for it? We
did check with our child's doctor to start omegas and NV and have seen
tremendous progress with both. I am thankful to find this group.
what happened with Vitamin E? I remember there was quite a lot of discussion, I
became very confused! alpha, vs add gamma if too high a dose of alpha, I see it
isn't talked about so much any more? were there problems, or did people feel it
did not work well after all?
There always was a tiny amount of vitamin e in the fish oils and it's still
there. About 15 IU per capsule. It's there because it helps prevent oxidation
of the fish oils and also because there was a study back in the early 2000s that
supplementation of fish oils over a period of time can create a vitamin e
deficiency- so Nordic raised the vitamin e slightly from 9 to 15 IU I recall.
In this group we for about a year or so used a higher but not mega amount of
vitamin e- about 200 to 400 IU. But due to a product called speak that came
out with very high levels pushing at full dosage of 6 capsules I recall 1000 IU
of alpha and 600 of gamma of both vitamin e and k and the horrific results in
DAYS from that product (have link to reports below) no we don't talk about or
even recommend supplementation of vitamin e unless a doctor feels it necessary.
But yes small amount of vitamin e are healthy -but here lays the danger for all
of us who supplement with this and that and don't get most nutrients the way
nature intended -through diet - from whole foods -like nutriiveda. It's hard to
overdose on too many carrots and you'll start turning yellow first -way easier
to take too much vitamin a capsules.
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000350.htm
Just like with water and oxygen what we need to survive if given in mega dosages
can kill us
water
oxygen
vitamin e
http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/126268-overview
So the word of the day is 'moderation'
Again this is one of the reasons that I have become such a strong believer in
getting our nutrients from whole foods. All the nutrients including vitamin e
in nutriiveda are from whole foods and for vitamin e it's a conservative 15 IU
per scoop -so the same amount of vitamin e per capsule of fish oil (another
comparison to fish oils :)http://pursuitofresearch.org/ingredients.html
So if you haven't been around that's probably why you are not aware of why we no
longer talk about vitamin e. And again- in moderation of course it's needed and
healthy -and if you have a child that needs more than the norm supplemented
-please proceed under a medical doctor's care AND with extreme caution in my
opinion -read on as to why I say this from a recent archive because yes this has
come up recently:
You can check the archives here which documents the actual positive, neutral and
negative results reported in our group by the parents. The negative results
have the greatest responses.
/links/Pharma_Omega_Spea\
k_reports_from_group_001224703760/
In short you may want to look up the words " hypervitaminosis e " and
" hypervitaminosis k " but read on to see what was reported from our group and
please be careful!!! Our group supports the use of essential fatty acids and
essential amino acids but we do not support the use of mega dosages of vitamin E
and K due to the horrific results from our group.
Here's more from an archive
may want to read up on Speak here:
http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=115029735601 & topic=7363
And may want to read this excellent expert opinion on speak
http://en.allexperts.com/q/Speech-Disorders-987/2008/11/New-patented-product-ava\
ilable.htm
Also if you decide to go with speak may want to look up hypervitaminosis.
My son had MASSIVE regressions on Speak that horrify me to even think of. I had
to go to his school back then to explain to the entire school with Tanner in a
circle of friends why my son suddenly could no longer speak (ironic what they
call the product) because my son went from speaking the way he did here
http://www.debtsmart.net/talk/tanner.html to where he would open his mouth and
nothing would come out and he'd grope. It was a NIGHTMARE. The school, his
friends, teachers, professionals, us, neighbors, family -we all had to wait
patiently for Tanner to try to get out simple thoughts- and he would forget how
to say even simple things like...the letter B!!!!! And that was after less than
2 weeks on this stuff. I spent many nights back then crying myself to sleep and
praying not just for him but for all the children who's parents reported
seizures etc. I have no idea why that product is still on the market to the
general public and have lost respect for any professional that would just
recommend it. I thank GOD every day that Tanner didn't stay profoundly regressed
from Speak. But even after 7 months my son never came back 100 percent but was
close to where he was before. But I was thankful he did slowly improve.
It wasn't until years later -and even within weeks of Nutriiveda that my son not
only came back to where he was before & #65533;but has soared beyond our wildest
dreams. And ironically the first one to say anything about Tanner's surges was
not us...it was once again the head of school at Tanner's school and noticed by
all the teachers and other students.
Nutriiveda is not a weight loss product. Nutriiveda is an all natural 100
percent FDA approved as food high quality nutrition that works with the body to
support the metabolic system. It is gluten, casein, fat, sodium, caffeine free
and contains all the essential amino acids and nutrients and all again from food
sources. Each ingredient is checked for heavy metals and Nutriiveda was
formulated by world renowned doctors including Dr. Deepak Chopra and Dr.
Simon. There have been over 600 clinical studies to validate the health reasons
of each of the foods in it and there will probably be research to validate what
we are seeing in our group as the success rate is almost across the board for
all ages and all conditions so far it seems. I know that appears hard to believe
but it's probably only because if you understand nutrition -it's rare for any of
us to get all the essential amino acids from one food source as we do in this
product- and put that together with everything else and this product is just
mind blowing impressive. Nutriiveda will nourish and detox the body if needed
and yes if you have excess fat it will get rid of it & #65533;but if you are
underweight it will help you gain muscle. Below is just one of the recent
testimonies from Diane who's on Nutriiveda (same product) as her son. He had
surges and gained 3 pounds and shot up an inch or so in the same month that
Dianne lost 15 pounds and gained more focus.
" We're seeing incredible gains with Liam. Took him to his DAN doc on Monday and
she not only approved using NV (after verifying with me that the botanicals
weren't tainted in any way and the whey was casein-free), but agreed with taking
Liam off of the multivitamin (Vitaspectrum) she had put him on, adding only an
extra Folate + B12 supplement and zinc, since blood work showed he is low in
these things. She remarked on how much healthier he looks - no longer has
translucent skin, lots of color in his face. Liam has also grown 1 1/2 inches
and gained 3 lbs. He seems happier, and no longer begs to stay home from
preschool. Still more attentive and engaged. Asking WHAT questions (had never
done before) and speaking in more complex sentences. He is even imitating the
British accent the Pig family has on Peppa Pig! too cute! His imaginative play
has increased, including - and this was a big one we thought - bonding with one
of his stuffed animals and actually naming it. He has never cared about stuffed
animals before - ever. He has carried this one around with him now for 3 days
and sleeps holding onto it. He puts it in his wagon and wheels it around the
house, and it plays games and watches DVDs with him, too. We are thrilled! He is
sleeping deeper/longer/better. His appetite, which has always been good, is even
better. We are so very pleased!
As for me - I've lost about 15 lbs., my energy level is great, I'm sleeping
better, and my head is much clearer - not sure exactly how to describe what has
happened, but I've felt so foggy for so many years that I've not even been able
to recall the words to songs that I hear over and over. Maybe processing speed
of some sort? At any rate, that has resolved, too.
I wish I understood exactly what it is in NV that is helping my son and me so
very much, but whatever it is its making me feel better than I have in years,
and it's clearly making a big difference for our son, which everyone has noticed
and remarked on!
Dianne "
You can read lots more here http://pursuitofresearch.org/testimonials.html
And you may have missed the amazing recent update about Robin's 26 year old
daughter Mel who had in the past few years previous to being on Nutriiveda was
hospitalized and almost died from her seizures & #65533;has been seizure free for
3 months since being on Nutriiveda & #65533;and according to neuro testing and her
doctors there is no explanation to the change in her brain to healthy other than
" nutriiveda " and that " by the end of the year should be off all seizure
medication "
There is more to Mel's amazing journey but I suggest you also read the blog here
if you have a chance
http://littlemermaidmelanie.wordpress.com/category/ayurveda-journal
My advice to you -in addition to doing your homework online -take the ingredient
list of each product to your pediatrician, a nutritionist and ask them which
they would recommend. I already know the answer I got across the board so I'm
sure you'll get the same.
By the way you didn't ask about fish oils -just fish oils!!!
http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=115029735601 & topic=7401
And the beauty is -you can do both fish oils and nutriiveda -many of us are. Why
not make sure your child is getting both essential fatty acids and essential
amino acids?
