Guest guest
I only had Tanner on 4 ProEFA and 2 ProEPA a day for years. We worked up to that and he was much older and larger than your child and I found that dosage to be great for him. At one point I had him a bit higher- but found no surge or regression if I raised him. On the other hand from the 4/2 dosage if I tried to lower him he'd regress within a day with " bumpy " speech. After Tanner was on nutriiveda for a few months however -because it supports the metabolic system as well I cut his fish oil dosage in half from the 4 ProEFA 2 ProEPA to 2 ProEFA 1 ProEPA and not only no regression but he continues to surge- blows my mind. I've never heard of a preschool in the middle of the school year removing a child from a class because he surged so much -and quite honestly think that would be the best problem ever! Up to you if you want to wait but as one doctor once told me- you never want to withhold something that you know or highly suspect will help a child...at least for too long. The more I'm reading up on all the whole foods in nutriiveda the more I understand why this is helping. It appears it's just a matter of what is essential. I have to update this http://pursuitofresearch.org/science.html as I've learned a bit more. Put it this way -google neurotransmitter and some of the essential amino acids and other foods in nutriiveda- there is just so much. No doubt in my mind that I'm helping Tanner to heal his own brain just by providing him with what he needs but didn't have up til now no matter how healthy I thought I fed him. =====
Guest guest
How old and large was your child. My son is 6 and 61 lbs and is on the 2 to 1 ratio is that still correct? Guest guest
Tanner is 13 now and is 5 foot 10 inches high and weighs 148 pounds -so essentially the size of a grown man. But he's always been very tall for his age. At 3 years old I took him with me to Dakota's school where Dakota was in kindergarten for a PTA meeting. There was a table of baked goods that Tanner was standing near looking at and a teacher walked up to him and said " Young man where are you supposed to be right now? " She thought he was in kindergarten and he was only 3 years old! Tanner for years and years was on 4 ProEFA and 2 ProEPA. Incredibly as tall as he already was a few months ago (5 foot 7) he grew another 3 inches in the past few months since putting him on nutriiveda. Sometime in December (?) I cut Tanner's dosage of fish oils in half, because it's clear nutriiveda is helping him in so many areas and I suspect helping his body utilize the essential fatty acids better than before. As I suspected there was no regression for the first time in Tanner's life when I reduced his fish oils from the 4/2 to yes the 2/1 ratio- but actually with just 2 ProEFA and 1 ProEPA a day. That's all Tanner's on now. Dakota on the other hand -my ADHD son who only just started the 4 scoops a day of nutriiveda more recently is still on his full dosage of fish oils and big time regresses if he skips a day. It will be curious to see if he too can be cut as he is on 10 capsules a day of ProEFA and ProEPA which for his almost entire school career (he's now 15) has kept him off all ADHD meds thank goodness! The reason we put Dakota on to a therapeutic dosage of nutriiveda too was not just due to ADHD. And unlike Tanner -Dakota refused to drink nutriiveda for months. But....Tanner, my 13 year old, started to shoot up in height past my 15 year old. Think that was a huge motivating factor for Dakota- and Dakota's bright enough to know that it didn't appear to be just a coincidental growth spurt of 3 inchses in 3 months. So more recently for ADHD reasons and now for growth reasons (since Dakota is not a very healthy eater) we have Dakota on 4 scoops a day now too of nutriiveda. Just like Tanner within a month he shot up an inch- and second month another so thankfully wasn't too late and again it's only about 2 months for the 4 scoops for Dakota. Now Dakota is the same height as Tanner -and he no longer argues about drinking nutriiveda. In addition both boys grades which were already good -have gone to almost perfect. Sorry if I keep bringing this up but I'm in awe of the seemingly sudden changes -and of course do not just mean height. I've been reading the book The Genius In All Of Us and there are so many variables to genetics. Poor nutrition can make a difference in everything -including the difference of inches in height. I believe amongst other things, some which are far more important than height - this is why so many of us are reporting remarkable growth spurts on nutriiveda as well- because of the essential amino acids. But I like to mention height because it's something that we can literally measure. Barbara has twins that are normal developing that were about the same height. Her son drinks nutriiveda and her daughter they can't get it into her- her son has shot up past her daughter in the past 3 months or so since being on nutriiveda. For those of you friends with me on facebook I have pics of me standing next to Tanner and Dakota at Disney yesterday. I'm 5 foot 5 (and a half!) inches tall -and I look like a pipsqueak standing in between my two sons! So if you start nutriiveda -please measure height as from what I saw with both -growth is quick. Again search " essential amino acids " which are the building blocks of ....life (!) and neurotransmitters. May want to read this too http://pursuitofresearch.org/science.html#doctors I of course believe that the essential fatty acids are essential for those that have asked me " well why don't you try to stop them? " Why stop giving my son something that is essential but that he for sure doesn't get enough of in his diet? But essential fatty acids aren't all that is essential to our bodies- perhaps as a group, in general -the essential amino acids have been overlooked far too long. And from what I'm reading many of you supplemented with one or three of them -but not from whole foods and not always looking at chemical reactions of how one nutrient requires another- very complex. And trying to learn about the ayurvedic mix which no doubt in my mind adds to the beauty of why this is working so remarkably as well. So should you increase fish oils? Again depends. At some point we had Tanner up to 6 ProEFA and 3 ProEPA daily, but only for a short time -for years he's only been on the 4/2 and most recently on just 2/1 -and I suspect that's where we'll stay. I'm very thankful for how far the fish oils brought both my boys -but in our family's case I'm beyond happy that I discovered the importance of the essential amino acids as well from protein. Nutriiveda has been the answer we were searching for. And I suspect it's not just helping -but somehow rewiring Tanner's brain. I do not believe Tanner will need to be on therapeutic 4 scoops a day dosages for life. But like fish oils- it will just be healthy for him to have a scoop or two each day as a healthy protein shake....with his fish oils. =====
