Celeste my son drinks pediasure. I'm lucky because I cab blend one full scoop

per 8 ounces in a blender and he will drink it. We also mix it up in his yogurt.

Hope this helps.

freezing it, then thaw slightly..break up in chunks.

Hi Celeste and ,

Please do NOT use Pediasure if you are using NV!!! NV replaces the need for a

multivitamin, and especially one that is not natural. The only other nutrient I

suggest using while using NV would be essential fatty acids as NV provides all

the essential nutrients needed daily outside of the essential fats.

I will explain more about Pediasure in a bit.

About hydration:

The amount of liquid needed daily while on NV is the same amount recommended

daily for all -they are for healthy hydration levels. So...it would be the same

amount needed for a child on pediasure.

From the FAQ page~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

When consuming NutriiVeda, how much water or liquid should my child be drinking?

The amount of liquid recommended daily is for healthy hydration whether

consuming Nutriiveda or not. To figure that amount out one of the suggestions is

to multiply your child's weight by 0.6 to get a rough estimate of how much

liquid your child should consume per day. A simpler method is to take body

weight, divide in half and that is the approximate amount of ounces of liquid

one should consume a day. Please note: liquid is not just water, and is found in

many foods as well.

http://pursuitofresearch.org/products/nutriiveda/frequently_asked_questions/

Some suggestion for increasing hydration:

Frozen treats -take juices your child likes and make them into pops or a sherbet

like dessert.

Find juicy fruits your child may like, watermelon for example is a great way to

hydrate (probably why they call it watermelon :)

Let your child pick out a reusable cup she can carry around with her so can

drink throughout the day

Use dixie cups and serve small amounts of liquid at a time.

If your child loves juice boxes and you typically don't buy them, for the first

2 weeks use them as a reward or treat.

The main reason I am focused on the first 2 weeks is you want to make sure your

child is regular. NV is great for elimination and that's one of the benefits

http://pursuitofresearch.org/pursuit-of-research/ but in the first 2 weeks there

will be a larger amount of waste being passed so you want to make sure the child

is hydrated so they don't become constipated. I talk about why the natural

detox from the foods here

In regards to using Pediasure -that would be about the same as using Carnation

Instant Breakfast. It's a nutritional boost for kids that don't eat well or

could be a meal in itself as well. Both Pediasure as well as Carnation Instant

Breakfast however are not natural and the nutrients are added which is not the

purest form of supplementation. Most don't bother to look at ingredients

(unless it's NV or fish oil) so here's the ingredient list of Pediasure

Water, Sugar (Sucrose), Corn Maltodextrin, Milk Protein Concentrate, High Oleic

Safflower Oil, Soy Oil, Whey Protein Concentrate, Medium-Chain Triglycerides.

Less than 0.5% of the Following: Soy Protein Isolate, Short-Chain

Fructooligosaccharides, Natural & Artificial Flavors, Cellulose Gel, Magnesium

Phosphate, Potassium Citrate, Potassium Chloride, Calcium Phosphate, Calcium

Carbonate, Potassium Phosphate, Salt (Sodium Chloride), Cellulose Gum, Choline

Chloride, Ascorbic Acid, Soy Lecithin, Monoglycerides, C. Cohnii Oil,

m-Inositol, Potassium Hydroxide, Carrageenan, Taurine, Ferrous Sulfate,

dl-Alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate, L-Carnitine, Zinc Sulfate, Calcium Pantothenate,

Niacinamide, Manganese Sulfate, Thiamine Chloride Hydrochloride, Pyridoxine

Hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Cupric Sulfate, Vitamin A Palmitate, Folic Acid,

Chromium Chloride, Biotin, Potassium Iodide, Sodium Selenate, Sodium Molybdate,

Phylloquinone, Cyanocobalamin, and Vitamin D3.

Contains milk and soy ingredients. Gluten-free; suitable for lactose

intolerance. Not for children with galactosemia.

You will find the nutritional panel for Pediasure here as well

http://abbottnutrition.com/products/pediasure

Ingredient page of NV where all ingredients are from food 100 percent (that's

huge!) AND each food is tested FREE of heavy metals, herbicides, pesticides,

hormones, genetically modified foods, stimulants, preservatives, and also free

of synthetic contaminants. When nutrients are all from food as they are in NV

-that is the purest form of supplementation and that alone may be why it's

working. Also as I always stress -each serving of NV contains ALL of the

essential amino acids and nutrients from food.

Ingredients: Whey Protein Isolates (Amino Acids: Alanine, Arginine, Aspartic

Acid,Cystin, Glutamic Acid, Glycine, Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine,

Methionine, Phenylalanine, Proline, Serine, Thereonine, Trytophan, Tyrosine,

Valine), Rice Life powder (Brown Rice), Natural Cocoa Powder, Apple Fiber,

Organic Cane Sugar, Proprietary Ayurvedic Blend (Guggul, Amalaki, Green Tea,

Haritaki, Turmeric, Gymnerma, Cayenne Pepper), Xanthan Gum, Stevia, L-Taurine,

L-Theanine.

You will also find the nutritional panel for NV here as well

http://pursuitofresearch.org/products/nutriiveda/nutriiveda-ingredients/

So now it's probably even more clear why pediatric medical doctors everywhere

are approving NV!! Here's again info to share with your child's doctor if you

have not yet started NV which I HIGHLY recommend!!!

http://pursuitofresearch.org/find-a-professional/

And Celeste congratulations on all you have noted thus far in the first week

-please continue to update us with the progress because expect much in the first

weeks and months!!! You are in for some super fun!

I appreciate your input about Pediasure and NV but for us this works and we have

seen great results. My son only drinks Pediasure so we will have to continue

with what works for us.

Thanks,

hi ,

But what you can do now that you've gotten the NV in for a bit is s.l.o.w.l.y

back off the pediasure and add a wee bit of water to replace it. You'll find

soon enough that you are serving NV with water with a splash of pediasure and if

you want replace that with almond or some other milk, juice or even food. You

want to look at the levels of nutrients and make sure not to give too much as

pediasure was created to supplement poor diets- and with NV isn't needed. The

surges you'll see no matter what you mix NV with -even just water. That's

pretty much all my son uses now -and we had to really doctor it up to start.

Stick to each reduction for at least 4 days to a week -can't reduce it too

quickly or they will notice and reduce it just a wee bit the first time -but I

know you will be able to reduce it and even eliminate it if you wanted to over a

few weeks.

Does he like the vanilla or chocolate? Almond milk does come in both flavors

now just like NV -so we use both in our home. All of us now mix the NV with

mainly water with a splash of either flavor almond milk. We use this brand most

of the time http://www.silkpurealmond.com/
