Sharon what an incredible update. What I did is use this page -a direct link to

your apraxia page http://vraciufamily.blogspot.com/search/label/apraxia and

would play a bit of one of the before videos and compare it to these most recent

3 month update videos.

First I just want to say I can't believe he has a cold right now and still

sounds so great because as we know when they are sick, tired or stressed they

can break down a bit. What stood out to me in these videos are:

1. improved articulation

2. length of utterance

3. quickness in motor planning fingers for age

4. whispering (or did he do this before?)

5. (I know there isn't an eye contact problem but still seems like) increased

eye contact

LOVE the way he moves his body in perfect rhythm to his singing!

What about the memorization of the books and the song -when did you first notice

that he is able to memorize so much? Did he do it before but just wasn't clear

what he was saying? Also outside of speech and motor skills - have you noticed

a growth spurt???

Kudos to you and !!! Awesome! And would be great if you can capture

another moment once he no longer has a cold :)

Thank you for sharing this. I have been reading about this but to actually see

the before and after is helpful. My husband (Mr. Skeptic) actually said it was

impressive.

Thanks, .

He really is doing great, eh? My input on what you noticed:

1. Articulation: Agreed - Seems to eb & flow at times, but overall improved.

2. Length of utterances. This is VERY MUCH improved. So much so that it's

making it hard to manage articulation improvements. I mean that he talks A LOT

all day and is constantly practicing saying words incorrectly. It seems he's

more easily able to speak correctly on newer words, or words that he doesn't say

all the time. For instance, he is still learning how to say " n. " His cousin's

name is Connor and before we started working on the letter n he never said

Connor's name much. In the last few months, I taught him how to say Connor

correctly, and every single time he says it, it is right. However, for other

more commonly used words that he normally says incorrectly (that contain an

" n " ), it seems REALLY hard to re-train him on how to articulate correctly. BUT

HE'S TALKING ALL DAY - so part of me doesn't worry a ton :)

3. Motor-planning quickness - yep! Doing great.

4. Whispering: I believe he was doing this before NV.

5. Eye contact: Yep again.

6. Memorization: I think we noticed an impeccable memory around age 2, which

was before NV. You posted something a few days ago about our kids having great

memories and your theories as to why -it really resonated with me. knows

where we're driving without me saying a word, just by the looking out the window

and knowing the streets/surroundings. He'll hear a Coldplay song on the radio

(for the 2nd time) and remember that a) the band is Coldplay and b)the lead

singer of Coldplay is even when I only told him one time over a

month prior. It has only gotten more impressive, but who knows if it's been

enhanced by NV or not...can't be sure about that.

I'll get more footage of him when his cold clears up.

Thanks!

Real quick Sharon because got to run -yes know our kiddos have great

memorization skills from quite young -but prior to the long utterances there

probably couldn't be a way for you to know if he memorized an entire book or

song -so was asking if he seemed to try to recite the book or song before but

was just unintelligible? Probably didn't ask the right way last time :)

Ahhh - I see.

He was definitley trying to do songs before NV, but I can't remember about

books. I know sometimes he would correct me if I said a word wrong in a book.

I'd say " he was a handsome fella " and the book really read " he was a handsome

guy " - would just say " guy...it's guy. " However, I'm just not sure he was

trying to recite FULL books before NV. It's so hard to know what's

normal/natural for him vs what's NV/fish oil/therapy induced when he's only 2-3

yrs old.

Sharon this is probably the best example of a child trying to sing an entire

song even though he can't say the words (in this case because of a language

barrier) He's blocking the sounds and he is just about spot on for tone too.

(no wonder almost 20 million views! -well that and he is Adorable with a capital

A)
