Guest guest
How old is Lillian? My son has no other issues as well. He turned 3 in November. I have really noticed a difference giving him the fish oils. (Nordic Naturals is the brand I use) I squeeze them in a shotglass of limeaid each day and he drinks it down. Others have had amazing results using Nutriiveda. (a whole vitamin supplement) we haven't yet... I am still hopeful. I brought the nutriiveda and fish oils to his doctor and got the okay... said it wouldn't hurt him and maybe it would help. I know the fish oils have helped. His dry skin and hair became soft within a week, so I know his body had/has deficiencies. Right before his third birthday, his verbal expression tested at a 15-18 month level and his receptive level was 48+ months. He was extremely frustrated, so I started the " signing time " videos. I can't believe how fast he picked the signs up. He would just need to see them once and I'd have to go watch them to see what he was saying. it has really eased his frustration, and now I am trying to get a " noise " out of him when he signs. (an attempt at the word too) I too felt he wasn't getting enough with EI. (30 minutes a week--in a class of 12) I just started taking him the a university 45 minutes away for 50 minute speech sessions 2x a week. (the communicative disorder department.) I have been impressed so far. The therapy is given by a master's student under the direction of a professor/therapist. I hadn't been able to find a therapist that I liked or that was on my insurance close by. You can find more info about the fish oils/ doses and nutriiveda on 's cherub website. Good luck! Everything I've read says it is baby steps, but it will come!
