Guest guest
I don't know what's going on with my son, Nick. Over the past 2-3 weeks, his speech has become incredible. Yesterday I took him to a grocery store dropoff center. The lady there has seen him for months, and told me " for the first time since he started coming here, I understood EVERYTHING he's said " . On Tues, he said " I'm four " . He NEVER says four. He will usually say " this many " while holding 4 fingers. He loves his ewephant (instead of eh-weh-sent), and now watches movies instead of moobies. Today he came home and told me about the book the class read today, something about a fox and chickens. His story was very detailed. I've never heard him explain anything so well before! It seems like everything just clicked all of a sudden! On a downside, he's been a little sensory lately. It started with an ear infection a month ago, then he got better until we went to a ball game (high energy places set him off). Since then, he's been headbutting, rubbing his towel, etc. Although I'm seeing it get better, I wonder if it could be a regression in sensory to make up for the surge in speech, similar to how they say toddler speech can regress a bit when they're learning to walk (or is it the other way around?). If so, I can't complain. He's not on NV (I've considered it, but glad to see this surge naturally because otherwise I would've assumed it was NV), and he's only on 3/ 1.5 fish capsules a day. That's something else impressive - I used to have him on 6/3, and when I pulled him off for testing, I only built up to 3/ 1.5 and he's been fine. I'm so proud of him!!
