My Rewards Number only applies if the person has never ordered from iHerb before. After a newcomer's 1st order my Rewards Number is still tracking so I get credit for all subsequent purchases too. Guest guest
> > Is there a cod liver oil in capsul form or do you suggest just putting this liquid in capsuls? +++Hi Lara. No I do not suggest putting it in capsules, since it would require too many capsules in order to get the correct amount. > > I've been trying to get this down but lemon flavor or not, > it's hard. +++Many people add cod liver oil to broths, which they say covers the flavor and dilutes it. Some people immediately follow the swallowing of cod liver oil by water or tea, or dilute it in tea. You can also rub cod liver oil into your lower belly, over the intestines, instead of taking it by mouth. That's how it is given to invalids and babies. Guest guest
> > Hi Bee and everybody > > the cod liver oil from blue ice has changed alot lately the normal cinnamon tingle liquid fermented has been stopped and now its not a liquid but says " soy free emulsified " . is this safe to take as on the western price website on cod liver oil it says emulsified vitamin a is 10 times more toxic. im confused as maybe there refering to emulsified synthetic vitamin a thats put into cod liver oil and not naturally occuring emulsified vitamin a. +++Hi . Yes Blue Ice CLO has changed a lot. Emulsification is a process by which one liquid is dispersed into another in the form of small droplets. Here's the quote from the Weston A. Price Foundation, which I believe you have misinterpreted: " We have pointed out that concerns about vitamin A toxicity are exaggerated. While some forms of synthetic vitamin A found in supplements can be toxic at only moderately high doses, fat-soluble vitamin A naturally found in foods like cod liver oil, liver, and butterfat is safe at up to ten times the doses of water-soluble, solidified and emulsified vitamin A found in some supplements that produce toxicity. " +++Note: They do not state that " all " emulsified vitamin A produces toxicity; they say " some supplements " produce toxicity. +++I know that the Fermented Cod Liver Oil (FCLO) contains natural occurring vitamin A, which is not toxic, even if it happens to be emulsified. > > also theres all these new brands like arctic mint gel, fruit attack gel, etc here is the link > http://www.greenpasture.org/retail/?t=products & a=line & i=fermented-cod-liver-oil +++I am not impressed with Dave's Wenzel's flavored FCLOs! Cinnamon was okay since it is also antifungal, antibacterial, etc., but Fruit, Chocolate Cream and Orange aren't good! I also couldn't find out what he means by " gel " - what does it stand for? Maybe someone can write to Dave and find out. +++However I don't recommend any of Green Pastures FCLOs! The main reason is because he has not been able to tell us how much Omega-3 it contains, and his products are very expensive. +++Therefore, I suggest you take softgels caps instead of liquid. Buy two products: Life Time Omega-3 and Shark Liver Oil (for vitamins A & D) available through iHerb: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/resource/iherb.php Shark liver oil is on the list, but I haven't listed Life Time Omega-3 yet, so search for it using " Life Time Omega-3. " Take 3 each of both products daily. All the best, Bee
Guest guest
> > I am having difficulty with the cod liver oil....It makes me nauseous for an hour or two after I take it (with a full meal). I found that you recommended in another post to rub it onto the abdomen. Do I use exactly the same amount that is taken orally? > +++Hi Betsy. That's why you should start with very small amounts and slowly increase them - some people need to start with 1 teaspoon 3 times a day with meals, and others must start with maybe 1/2 teaspoon. I don't believe rubbing it into your abdomen is going to provide the same benefits as taking it orally. It is important that coconut oil goes through its usual digestive route to trigger the gall bladder to dump its bile, and through the lymphatic system into the bloodstream. Guest guest
> > Hello Bee, It has been awhile since I posted. I'm still struggling a lot with feeling better. I have waves of depression and a general sense of feeling sick. My energy is low too. I do take ALL the supplements and eat right without cheats. I have plenty of fat in my diet too according to the ratios you gave. I am also taking the cod liver oil as directed. Since it has been winter I've only taken one break from it and noticed that going off it actually made me feel better...I had more energy, lower depression and a general sense of good health. Could it be that taking 2T a day of cod liver oil (I use Garden of Life and refridgerate it), is too much? +++Hi Care. I think you should take 1 tbls. of GOL Cod Liver Oil, and take a separate Halibut Liver Oil capsule (1) that contains 10,000 IU vitamin A and 400 IU Vitamin D. Guest guest
Bee...I should have asked this in my last post. Would it be ok to take extra Vit D (400) and Vit A (10000)plus the 1T GOL Cod liver oil instead? Do you have some extra A & D you can take now before your Halibut order comes? If you do, you can take them now with 1T CLO. You need to " think " with this information since daily you need the following amounts, so you can do the calculations yourself: Recommended Daily Amounts of 3 Important Nutrients: Vitamin A: 20,000 IU - 30,000 IU Vitamin D: 800 IU - 1,200 IU Omega-3: 2,000 mg - 3,000 mg (Omega-3 includes EPA & DHA) It is advisable to " not take " any supplements at least one day a month to allow time for your body to adjust itself as it sees fit. Guest guest
Bee, I'm sorry my post wasn't clear. YOu suggested that instead of 2T of GOL CLO that I take Halibut 1 cap + 1T of CLO. I was asking if I could take extra Vit D (400mg) and extra Vit A (10000) instead of getting the Halibut? If the Halibut is a must, I will order it. I just wasn't sure if there was something else in the Halibut that was necessarry and I already have Vit A and D in my house. Thank you for your patience. I didn't know you had a vitamin A & D supplement already. Guest guest
Bee, I want to clarify something. If I am allowed to take the CLO with Vit D and A in one dose is it still ok to split up my other supplements. I would probably do the CLO in the AM. But I usually take all the others (Mag, Calc, Vit C etc) in a split dose between breakfast and dinner. Is that ok? I just didn't know if the Calcium would metabolize properly without taking the Vit D with it at dinner time. Thank you, Care --- In , " Bee " <beeisbuzzing2003@...> > > +++Hi Care. I also should comment that the D3 I found has soybean oil in it. Most people react to soy products like they do to other kinds of toxins, even healthy people like me. So yes it is bad. Bee
