Guest guest
I was wondering if dyarthria can be not only a weakness, but also a tightness of the mouth? Or would that plainly be a result of verbal apraxia and or oral apraxia? My son can smile, show his teeth, sometimes stick tongue out (not far, not tonguetie), no lip rou ding/kissy face, we are back to blowing bubbles with a rounding tube (talk tools), and probably cannot lateralize tongue for speech well, very few approximations, no L, no R..i am sure i left out a lot here. Any thoughts? Am i just looking at severe verbal apraxia? Our dx is va, oral apraxia and global. Thank you.
Guest guest
That's about right..My son had similar problems and he was diagnosed with severe oral & verbal apraxia. He is now 9 y.o. and his dentist noticed that he can't open his mouth as wide as he " should " .
