Guest guest
Hello Parents, I have my 17 yr old son on GF/CF/Feingold diet for the past 15 years now. He is a super sensitive kid (diet sense). His speech therapist has noticed that he does not chew his food and instead swallows his food. His mouth muscle tone is extremely weak. The S.T. is working on building his mouth muscles by having him chew the chewy tube on each side for 20 times each, blowing bubbles. She wants to introduce chewy foods and has asked me whether she can introduce apples or pears during her sessions. My son eats only blueberries and some watermelon. Which fruit is the SAFEST in regards to low oxalates and low yeasty? I need to take the fruit on Friday for the therapy session. Please advise the safest food to intro for building his mouth muscles. Also, this S.T. is new to my child and started working with him since past 2 months. My son's clarity is very bad, articulation is pretty bad. It appears that he does not place his tongue on the palate to say " eleven " articulately. Any suggestions? Should I recommend the S.T. to use Sara approach. I have no idea about program, just reading from few emails here. Regards, Mom
