Guest guest
What i mean is i have to post a new topic and cannot reply to an email.. I don't know why. I do not use a different email What i mean is that the bottle of childrens fish oil gummies says 2-4 tablets a day, and her Ped suggested we start with 2. You wrote: am not sure what you mean by a lower dosage of fish oil? One regular sized capsule of ProEFA is about the dosage the FDA approved for infant formula. Are you saying you are providing less than that? Dr. Oz just had a show on this this past week and said fish oils are the most important supplement anyone could take and everyone (everyone!) should take them daily. Of course if not allergic to fish! And it's not just him -it's the AMA, AHA, etc. Essential nutrition is essential for human life and the body can not produce it on it's own so it needs to be consumed. Due to diets today many go without essential nutrients -and yes that will affect health in a negative way.
Guest guest
It seems whatever you are doing now is working- or are there other messages you are trying to send that are bouncing back to you still? The gummies are great for kids that don't have any special needs and a parent wants to raise the amount of essential fats in the diet- but typically low in the DHA, EPA (Omega 3 EFAs from fish oils) and no GLA (Omega 6 EFA from primrose or borage seed oil) And expensive if you want to get up to full dosage as if you use for example the Nordic brand it's about a dollar a gummie. Other brands of gummies are much lower than Nordic and quality is in question there are well. We rather recently covered this here for the Nordic gummies and I will put that archive below. But as I don't know what brand of gummies or the formula/dosage, please if you can send back how many gummies it says to take, and per (one? two?) how much DHA and if it has EPA or anything else (the ingredients) let me know to compare it for you. In most cases I wouldn't be shocked one bit if you note no improvements by using the gummies- so don't give up hope- essential food therapy may still be an answer for your child to accelerate! ~~~~~~~~~start of archive Re: nordic naturals gummies Both the worms and the fishies that Nordic Naturals makes for kids are not the dosages most of us have used, but for sure you could use 2 of them...and try that without the GLA (primrose or borage seed oil) but it's going to cost way more than the capsules for you. The following for example is for the Fishies as the worms are even lower in mg of Omegas EPA is 34 and DHA is 22 per worm. One Fish Contains: EPA: 68 mg DHA: 45 mg Other Omega-3s: 23 mg Nordic Omega-3 Fishies And because they both are around 30 dollars for around 30 fishies or worms- they come out to around a dollar a fish or worm. Compare that to 90 capsules of ProEFA for 20.35 online http://www.speech411.com which contains 1 ProEFA capsule (American testing) 148 mg of EPA, 98 mg of DHA, 180 mg 36 mg. of GLA (from borage seed oil) There's also coromega you can try that's got an orange flavor? http://www.coromega.com/ so maybe more kid friendly? But no -wouldn't use any fish oils mixed with vitamins now as the NV will provide all the essentials http://pursuitofresearch.org/products/nutriiveda/nutriiveda-ingredients/ and from food which is the best way! ~~~~~~~~~end of archive =====
