Guest guest
Hi ,  Not sure if anyone responded to you yet.  We experienced a similar thing. My daughter got a cold and fever just before I started NutriiVeda. Just so that you know, the cold or fever will mask some initial gains with the NutriiVeda. You will see them more after the cold.  Success on NutriiVeda is also water intake dependant for some reason so again while he is sick you may not see the surges fully.  I think NutriiVeda will give him more nourshiment noting he is not eating much because it is healthy food packed with vitamins. Maybe try some apple sauce with it or other foods that have some liquid in it to help in hydration while taking it if he is up to eating some.   I continued giving it to my daughter when she was sick.  Hope this helps, Demi From: gottlieb_michelle@... <gottlieb_michelle@...> Subject: [ ] Sick and NV " Apraxia Group " < > Date: Tuesday, February 8, 2011, 12:20 PM  Hi, My 2 1/2-year-old son has been sick with high fevers and a cold, cough. We started NV a little over a week ago (one scoop per day). Since he is not drinking as many fluids (I'm trying to get as much in him as I can) should I decrease the amount of NV? Or will the NV help since he is not eating or drinking as much? Thanks! Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
Guest guest
Thanks Demi! Applesauce is one of the foods I put NV in normally so that has been working. I hope we see some surges after his cold. Thanks again, Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry [ ] Sick and NV " Apraxia Group " < > Date: Tuesday, February 8, 2011, 12:20 PM Â Hi, My 2 1/2-year-old son has been sick with high fevers and a cold, cough. Guest guest
I would for sure keep giving your child the NV! Even though my boys have not gotten sick that I can recall since being on NV and fish oils- there was one time that Dakota got a 24 hour bug -and NV was just about the only thing he was able to hold down. I only mixed it with water -and he drank one glass over the course of a few hours -but who knows...perhaps the NV helped it to be just a 24 hour thing! NV contains all of the essential amino acids and nutrients -it 'can' be full meal and vitamin replacement in adults -but in growing children it's missing the fats required for growing brains. But if one isn't able to eat anything- for sure this provides WAY more nutrition than a slice of toast!...Oh =and when Dakota was sick that day I did add a half of banana to each shake he drank over the course of a few hours...so only added water and the half a banana. About the hydration -the amount recommended is the same that is recommended for anyone, everyday. There is much about most people walking about dehydrated much of the time. By the time you " are thirsty " you may already be dehydrated. We examined whether drinking water improves performance from baseline to test in twenty-three 6†" 7-year-old children. There were significant interactions between time of test and water group (water/no water), with improvements in the water group on thirst and happiness ratings, visual attention and visual search, but not visual memory or visuomotor performance. These results indicate that even under conditions of mild dehydration, not as a result of exercise, intentional water deprivation or heat exposure, children's cognitive performance can be improved by having a drink of water. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science?_ob=ArticleURL & _udi=B6WB2-4XFPPT2-1 & _user=1\ 0 & _coverDate=12%2F31%2F2009 & _rdoc=1 & _fmt=high & _orig=search & _origin=search & _sort=\ d & _docanchor= & view=c & _searchStrId=1636393750 & _rerunOrigin=scholar.google & _acct=C\ 000050221 & _version=1 & _urlVersion=0 & _userid=10 & md5=1f999f0cbc482859e8a5ffcec7731d\ 87 & searchtype=a The normal amount of liquid intake can be figured out as the following -take body weight and divide in half and that is the approximate amount of ounces needed a day.
