Guest guest
NV replaces the need for extra vitamins in almost all cases unless there is something medical necessary for some reason. Fish oils or the essential fatty acids are not vitamins and they are also not in the NV so those you can continue, or can add and the essential fatty and amino acids appear to work great together. I have more info on that here http://pursuitofresearch.org/2010/12/01/therapeutic-use-of-fish-oil-for-apraxia-\ autism-and-other-communication-impairments/ For children you want to make sure they still eat food with healthy fat in it anyway with NV as children need fat for their growing brains. For 18 and older NV can be used as full vitamin and meal replacement if one wanted. Hope that helps! =====
Guest guest
Unless the calcium supplements are prescribed by the doctor I'd stop everything except fish oils (if already on them) And if the doctor did prescribe them I'd share the ingredients with him and ask if he still needs the calcium supps. Either way NV completely replaces the vitamin capsules. I have in this blog http://pursuitofresearch.org/2011/01/19/pregnant-women-cry-over-new-studies-toxi\ ns-and-drugs-and-poor-diets-oh-my/ about how much of what we take as medications ends up in the water (and because that's one of the things not tested for we end up drinking it!) and I don't know if I included it but the same goes for many of the vitamin supplements. Again the purest form of supplementation is through food -and all ingredients in NV are certified food and that's where all nutrients are from. Hope that helps! =====
Guest guest
You're welcome. Most parents stop everything that is not medical necessary (except fish oils) to start -but have below some archives from Sandy on how she found better results with her 11 year old by adding probiotics back. Again most didn't need it so best to start without it so you don't waste giving extra stuff if you don't need to. You can always add the calcium back after you start if needed- and again check with your child's doctor if he's the one that wants your child on the calcium. I'm sure the levels can be checked.Re: [ ] Re: dosage of omega 3-6-9 and nutriiveda Archives from Sandy Re: [ ] Re: dosage of omega 3-6-9 and nutriiveda i should have posted this months age (sorry lisa!!) but i wasn't sure until recently what was really going on. I do know that NV has improved my sons ability to make more complex language. Keep in mind that he just turned 11, only said his first word at 4.5 years old and had 2 word sentences in about grade 2. I started NV in march. I had stopped everything except the fish oils. I did notice the sentence complexity almost right away, but not much else, Then one day, i still had some digestive enzymes to use up, so added them in with the NV. Thats when i started noticing subtle differences. He only started actually riding his bike when he was 7 years old, but loved to build ramps and would run, holding his bike, not riding it, over the ramp. This is a child who HATES anything that involves his feet leaving the ground. Anyway, a couple of days after adding in those digestive enzymes, he actually put the ramp a little lower and rode over it! There were a few other things that he did that surprised me bit didn't think anything of it at the time, just thought it was the NV. When I finished the bottle of enzymes i didn't buy more, because i thought the NV and fish oil were fine. Once I stopped the enzymes however, he seemed to have a regression but i didn't connect it until recently. It's been puzzling to say the least, and I didn't want to post about it until now because i wasn't positive, but after a few stops and starts it does seem, that for my son digestive enzymes enhance the results of the NV. For those of you with younger children, the NV and fish oils would probably be enough. And if my son had started this before he had any words i would be reporting increased babble or attempts as speech and would have been thrilled with that. I don't have any idea why the enzymes seem to make a difference for him, i'm perplexed to say the least. If anyone has any ideas about this I'd love to hear them. Either way, I love what NV has done for my son and wish it was around when i started this journey oh so long ago! hope that answers the question! (have a really big headache right now, so not thinking so clearly!!) sandy mom to 11 years old Hi Traci, sorry it took so long to reply. Yes, my son has those processing issues too and there are things that he just doesn't get. while his reading is getting better, we're having to take baby steps when it comes to comprehending what it is he's reading. His speech seemed to really take off in the past couple of years (he's 11) and lately his speech has gotten a lot more complex It seems that once his speech comes, we find another problem that we couldn't have known about prior because his speech wasn't there. These last few months have been the biggest change in his speech. We've done the fish oils for years, but have added the NV with a digestive enzyme. It seems, for him at least, that this combo works really well.  would you mind my asking what you have your daughter on? sandy ________________________________ On Sep 23, 2010, at 6:45 AM, sandy lehmann <mommie2chris@...> wrote: > Hi Saray, > > I believe I'm the only one using them here.
