Guest guest
Doug: Welcome.!!! Yes we are similar to the Zone, but calories per each person vary and many follow the zone but many don't. Have you read Walford? You should start there. Books and other readings are recommended on our site. Go to the " files " on the home page and click. There will be good info to inform you of what to read and introductions to what we're about. We mention the Zone website as a matter of fact. If you have any specific questions, ask away! > Hi Guys! > > Read about you in the Wall Street Journal the other day. I've been a > Zone Diet guy for about 10 years and you guys are very similar. Guest guest
Hi Doug and welcome the crsociety organization. Regarding the Zone diet, most CRONies follow the recommendations of Walford, with information available at http://www.walford.com/index.html. The main list at crsociety/ has a wider audience and, although much science is discussed in their web site, all issues are dealt with and thoroughly debated from the different perspectives of the any members. Cheers, Al. > Hi Guys! > > Read about you in the Wall Street Journal the other day. I've been a > Zone Diet guy for about 10 years and you guys are very similar. Guest guest
Al: I certainly don't mind you pushing the main list. but I notice that you're not doing the same for the support list (ie pushing it on the main list). Although it's not a competition (at least not for me) please be even-handed and not biased. To be fair I think you need to tell Doug that newbies are not always treated with kindness there (one of the discussions going on now in fact) and that's one of the reasons this list exists. on 6/5/2002 12:11 PM, old542000 at apater@... wrote: > The main list at crsociety/ has a wider > audience and, although much science is discussed in their web site, > all issues are dealt with and thoroughly debated from the different > perspectives of the any members. > > Cheers, Al. Guest guest
Hi Doug, Some of us are attracted to the Sears Diet. Others are more inclined toward the prescription written by Roy Wolford. Focus more on body fat levels than on calories consumed. A number of us have purchased the Tanita scale, which measures body fat by electrical impedance. Read the archives for the last year or so to bring yourself up to speed. ----- Original Message ----- From: dougfromct2002 Sent: Wednesday, June 05, 2002 9:08 AMRead about you in the Wall Street Journal the other day. Guest guest
Many of us are very Zone-like in our diets. I am one of them. If you really follow the Zone and eat good vegetables and fresh, whole foods, you have been practicing CRON. Walford's book is very valuable and synthesizing the two books is possible. If you lighten up a little on the strict ratio at every meal, and pay a lot more attention to getting the RDAs, Zone can transform into CRON. I find I have to stick with Zone tactics to get enough protein on a really varied diet at 1000 KCAL or so per day.
Guest guest
Hi Dyana, So sorry to hear of what you are going through. Why did insurance cancel you? And I would think you could collect disability just on the scoliosis. I would look into that. I can not imagine working in your condition now. You need treatment. I am not an expert but am reading that your back is in not good shape. I am curious as to why your insurance would cancel. In your state do you qualify for other aid? I wish the best. Wanted to find out if it was a tumor. Went to a Chiro and he said he would not touch me because he wanted me to go to a spine DR. and so I did. I am trying to keep this brief. Spine Doc ordered MRI and whooooh, I knew my back was bad but it is very bad. Scoliosis which I knew 35 degree curve which has caused a rib hump, (the lump). Also stenosis, spondysomething, osteoarthritis, DDD, sciatia and disk bulge L-1 thru L-5, S-1. I'm sure you guys know more about these ailments, I don't understand the terms. All I know is I work full time and am in so much pain, most days I wish I would not wake up. Insurance cancelled me so I can't even try to get relief now. Any suggestions or QUESTIONS would be appreciated. Bless all of you, Dyana
