Guest guest
If it's like ECI in Texas, they just come in and have you fill out paperwork and they ask you a bunch of questions to determine what types of services you might so they'll know what type of therapists they need for the assessment. After our intakes, they determined that a speech therapist and OT needed to come out for the second appointment to test him. If the child also had say issues with walking or something like that, they'd also need a PT eval. It's just to get a gist for what kind of services she may need. Guest guest
Hi there- Do not be nervous... in the first meeting, your EI coordinator will come to your house and ask you some questions...they may ask questions about previous milestones that your daughter has achieved. try to remember when your daughter first rolled over, walked, etc. All questions asked will be ones that will be simple for you to answer. They will also explain the EI Program to you... and you will have to sign papers that show that you consent to having the EI. It is a very non formal Meeting- and usually does last only one hour. After this, they will schedule another time at your home. This second appointment will take longer... and will include more people..... The EI Coordinator and other Therapists. they will evaluate your daughter in your home to determine the degree of her delays. They will simply play with her as they administer tests. They will tell you if your daughter " meets criteria " for EI Services... If your daughter meets criteria, they will then ask you to give them a list of times that you are available for them to come to your home during the day. This info will then be given to available therapists so that one who has an opening during your available times can start therapy. Hope this helps.... My son also started with EI around age 22 months... I was so thankful for all of their help! [ ] What is " Intake Interview " at our house Hi there good morning: I'm really new at this and I'm fascinated by all the information that we can get from this group, we are just starting the process for my 22 month old girl that is " not talking " only 2 words, Mama and Papa, and a representative from Early Start Program has called me (referred by our pediatrician) for an Intake Interview at our house, can anybody please tell me what this is about? she said it will be about an hour and it will be mostly questions about the pregnancy and her first year.
