Guest guest
My son took a berry-flavored liquid form of Omegabrite for years. I believe it is a high quality fish oil. Guest guest
I've used Omega Brite Kidz with my two kids (now 8 and 10) and they really liked it. It has the same ratios recommended by Cherab and was easy to give to them. Another friend with a dyspraxic/SPD child and an SLP herself recommended it. I didnt' see a big difference with it, but we've had many other things going on. My kids have done great with Speech and OT and continue to improve. Need to start giving it to them again just because it's healthy. Hope that helps, Diane > > Searching for a good fish oil for 6yr old >
Guest guest
I used omegabrite and saw amazing things when my son was a toddler. We used the adult version, though, because I didn't want the artificial flavors they had in the kiddie product (don't know if they still do that.) Great product, and proved effective for his issues AND my mood. I loved it.
Guest guest
There really is no difference at all between adult and children's fish oil -it's just marketing. The only time in my opinion the Jr version capsules (in regards now to ProEFA) would be better and worth paying twice as much for is for when you want to teach a child how to swallow the capsules when they are older. Jr versions can be about twice as expensive. For example while the capsule has it's place - in the liquid jr you get 4 ounces for the about the same as the " adult " very same fish oil's 8 ounces -makes no sense unless you find the bottle that much cuter or are willing to pay twice as much for the smaller size bottle Omegabrite was formulated by Dr. Stoll who wrote the book The Omega 3 Connection which I highly recommend. Years ago he had wanted to work with our group through some sort of research to validate the oil therapy in our children but at that time his formula was pure Omega 3. It now has some Omega 6 in it as well -but in a quick search I didn't note if it was from primrose or borage seed oil or some other source? The price for 60 capsules is higher by 2 dollars here http://www.omegabrite.com/products/ at their site than the price for 90 capsules of ProEFA here http://www.speech411.com which most of us use. It's a high quality fish oil however so like EyeQ or Coromega -it's fine for anyone that wants to use this instead of ProEFA -whatever is easier Eye Q has been top in the UK and ProEFA in the US -but try any high quality one (that doesn't have mega vitamin E and K in it!!!) as parents most of us in the past anyway tried a few different brands of fish oils until we find one we are happiest with. Here's again a page on fish oils http://pursuitofresearch.org/2010/12/01/therapeutic-use-of-fish-oil-for-apraxia-\ autism-and-other-communication-impairments/ =====
