Guest guest
First a little info, because although I've been a member, I haven't made any posts yet. My son Camden turns 5 in September. He's been in speech therapy since he was 2.5 years old with the local university (communication disorders students work as speech therapists and are closely supervised by licensed SLPs) and just started with the school system SLP a year ago. He was diagnosed with apraxia by the university students/SLPs in November of last year. And while he's made leaps and bounds, he still really struggles with his speech and with being understood (he has a lot of final consonant deletion and also mixes up consonants). So I'm going to start him on NV. I ordered the first bit of it today, so we're just waiting for it to get here. I figure we'll start out at the two scoops a day. Anyway, my question: how long does a container of NV last? (I've had him on fish oil, but after three weeks, he was getting nosebleeds every few days and there was little to no improvement so we just stopped. Considering a GFCF diet, as well, although I'm waiting for a visit to an allergist to see if he's actually sensitive to gluten or casein before subjecting him to that diet.) Guest guest
Hi, The two canisters of NV should last you a month at 2 scoops per day. I just posted an update on both my children & Lily.I Hope this answers your question. Guest guest
I have two children I am using it with. My oldest is 6 and thus would get the two scoops a day, and my youngest gets one scoop a day. With the two containers I do not have enough to last the month. Since I couldn't afford to get any more I just give them each 1 scoop a day (which would be equivalent to what you would give your son) and I still run out a little before my shipment gets here. You might see if you can't get 3 the first month and then maybe the two a month after that would be enough. ________________________________ From: Sidney <sydnii@...> Sent: Tue, March 29, 2011 2:46:23 PM Subject: [ ] Question about NV First a little info, because although I've been a member, I haven't made any posts yet. Guest guest
Thanks I will order the Vanilla. We are in Charlotte, NC. We have been working on food for so long with new foods programs with our ABA therapists and we see Sara Rosenfeld every 6 months for a review on his oral motor low tone...but nothing seems to work for food. Speech is coming along since we started with Sara and probiotics, but feeding is still always a fight! Any other information would be great. Thanks! From: helpmespeak@... I would recommend vanilla NV in either the lemonade or orange juice. I would also recommend partnering with a private SLP who specializes in improving the skills of picky eaters (food acceptance/ variety and oral motor skills). In what city/state are you located?
