Guest guest
Hello all, I cannot figure out how to reply to a message from the digest. I click reply and it keeps bouncing back that I am not allowed to send messages through there and to click on the link 'in the email.' huh??? someone help me out? lol. On a totally different subject: For now our working diagnosis (not officially diagnosed) with Jenna is verbal apraxia / sensory integration problems / compulsive tendancies. After 2 months of frusteration, confusion, increasingly pissing phone calls, and finally conecting with one very helpful, nice, useful lady I have all the paperwork in order for Jenna (2 years old) to have a full developmental/nuero eval through the CHDD (center for human disease and disability) to see about a diagnosis and/or suggestions for different treatment options. (and also to hopefully encourage our insurance to continue coverage.) They are planning to do the eval in June, it takes 3 weekly meetings of 3-4 hours. She will see a speach therapist, childrens physcologist, developmental pediatrician, and nutrisionist (I am sure i spelled some of that wrong.) and on the 3rd week I will meet with the main coordinator and they will go over the results/ recommendations with me. I am very glad to finally have that organized. They are supposed to call me on Mon/Tue with the specific appointment times. Also, Jenna started OT this last week and I am very happy with that! They taught me how to make 'playdough' with cinamon and applesauce so if she eats it (which she seems to do) its totally ok, and I can add flour to make it less sticky since she flips if he hands get anythign on them. Then as she gets more used to it I make it slightly more sticky until she gets used to that, etc. It is working so well. She actually had a tiny bit stick to her hand yesterday and she didn't notice. After we put it away and got all cleaned up I was so excited (becuase she was a bit dirty and still loved it) that i turned on music and we danced. Also, I started Jenna on a lowish dose of fish oil. I havent noticed any huge improvement (but maybe the higher tolerance level is related, not sure), but things have been very stressful at my house (My mom is in the hospital with severe headaches, vision changes, high blood sugars, etc. and my Dad is staying with us to help with child care) so I am not surprised she has stagnated. However, As of a few weeks ago we counted 15 spotaneous/reoccuring words and her prompted words are ever increasing. Just typing it all out makes me smile!!! I am so glad to have found you guys and am reading your stories, and if I ever figure out how to reply will start joining in! Have a great day, Crys (Mom to Jenna, 26 months)
