blank stares?

Since going off the fish oil (4 weeks ago for school evals), we and the

therapists have noticed big regressions in all areas. I expect Maddi to go back

to normal once we resume the oils in about a week or so. Another somewhat

disturbing thing we've noticed is blank stares. Maddi will stop what she's doing

(walking, eating, playing) and just stare and be completely unresponsive for

about 10 seconds or more. When the episode is over, she resumes what she was

doing. These episodes have gotten more frequent and the therapists are noticing

them too. It happened at least 5 times during the 15 minutes of PT today that I

was watching her closely. She will be having an ambulatory EEG next week to

check for seizure activity. She has other issues going on besides apraxia, but

this is new to us. Does anyone else deal with bank stares or absence seizures?

My niece had absence seizures.  The EEG did not catch it right away because she

didn't have one while hooked up.  She also had speech delays...I wonder if

there is a correlation.
