Guest guest
Tricia most use both. One is an essential fatty acid (fish oils) and one contains all the essential amino acids (nutriiveda) and from what we've seen the two compliment each other beautifully. The only reason one may want to use one first and then the other is to observe the differences each brings. Most in this group have used fish oils first only because nutriiveda, or the benefits of adding essential amino acids and ayurveda is not as well known yet to all as essential fatty acids are. We have had incredible success with fish oils over the past decade http://www.cherabfoundation.org/2001/cherab-foundations-first-apraxia-conference And as we know from the survey http://pursuitofresearch.org/survey.html so far nutriiveda is working with dramatic surges within days or a week or so for around 90 percent -so right up there on the fav food to try list. But Mel is an example of one that started Nutriiveda first and has not been on fish oils for years and still isn't-and yet still had dramatic surges in her case starting on day one as you can read in her blog http://littlemermaidmelanie.wordpress.com You can't choose one or the other as both are essential. What essential means is that the body needs it, can't produce it so needs to consume it. In today's diets -especially in children that's sometimes tough. As parents we have so much to think about for our children -and I'm happy there is more awareness about the importance of essential nutrition, and even more impressed that nutriiveda is being approved by medical and alternative doctors as well as nutritionists all over except in two cases now? (and in both cases I know of the parent used it anyway and the child is having surges) Here's what I recommend: if you are not yet using fish oils or nutriiveda bring the following to your child's doc nutriiveda http://pursuitofresearch.org/NutriiVeda_Information.pdf -most already know the importance of fish oils! And if your child is already on fish oils -you can still use the above and we are seeing great things by using both of the " essentials " =====
Guest guest
Hi , Thank you for your response. I think I am one of the 2 people you know whose Dr {both pediatrician and neurologist} would not recommend Fish Oil and/or Nutriiveda. I went ahead and used the NN fish oil for a few months and seen myself great surges in my son. We had to stop using the ish oil since he was scheduled to have surgery and i had read it can act like a blood thinner. Well, now surgery is over with and we started the Nutriiveda and I am seeing more attempts at words then before. But i would love to add the NN back, since we seen such a big surge while on them. Thanks for your help and hopefully one day I can get through to his Doctor to " approve " both Fish Oil and Nutriiveda > > Tricia most use both. Guest guest
No Tricia then yours would make 3. the other two are Alyssa from land (who posts here frequently) who one of the five patients of Barbara who is surging on nutriiveda, and somewhere in Texas from our Big Tent group who's doctor didn't approve fish oils either! Not sure how you and handled it -but Alyssa is hysterical in that she told her doctor " I'm not asking you I'm telling you " Ayssa's the parent who's son Matt has stopped seizures since being on nutriiveda and reduced his Depakote has her update below..and below that is the update from the update from the only other parent who's child'd ped also didn't approve. I'd like to ask these doctors that don't approve whole food nutrition what their views are on off label adult medications being used now...and electroshock therapy -because Alyssa tell me if I'm wrong but Matt's doctor is from Kennedy Krieger that just published that paper about electroshock and autism that I posted here! See me -I'd find medical doctors who share my views which is to be more conservative with medications whenever possible -and have enough knowledge about the human body's need for essential nutrients to " approve " them. I only tell everyone to ask their child's doctor -but again if a banana came with a nutritional label -trust me -the typical moms of 2 year olds would be nervous to give their child an entire banana as they would fear there is " too much potassium " but wouldn't think twice of serving that same child something that comes in a fast food wrapper (and would not ask the doctor if that is OK!) Below is Alyssa and 's update (who both like you used nutriiveda in spite of what their doctor said) Again I'd find a doctor to work with- and share this info http://pursuitofresearch.org/NutriiVeda_Information.pdf and from http://pursuitofresearch.org/science.html @groups. com Sent: Thu, April 22, 2010 1:50:12 AM Subject: [childrensapraxiane t] Re: and NV This is just brilliant information Alyssa! Congratulations to you and your child and thank goodness for this group. I can't read the information here fast enough about nutraveda and I'm keen on trying a tub. I noticed slight differences in the ingredients of vanilla and chocolate http://www.pursuito fresearch. org/ingredients. html Are there any differences in effectiveness? What flavor does your son use? Hi all, I just had to share Alyssa's son, Matt's, story. Thanks for granting permission Alyssa! This week their family is on vacation in Las Vegas. His mom emailed me this: " and his dad went on this out of control roller coaster, it has loops and spirals and goes up to 70 miles an hour. would not rest until he got on that ride. Jerry (dad) and Matt were waiting in line and I could not see them at this point. I hear over the loud speaker that if you have epilepsy you should not ride the coaster. Now I am freaking out!! I text Jerry and he said to relax, ya right... Anyway the ride stops and yelled " again " and Jerry said " no " . My girl friend thinks this should be an ad for NutriiVeda Still holding strong " More info from Alyssa: " Matt is currently taking 200mg of Carbartol twice a day. Plus he was taking 250mg twice a day of Depakote, now he takes 125mg of Depakote in the morning, everything else is the same. I only drop or add meds with his Neurologist' s suggestion or okay. I don't think he thinks it is a great idea but he was willing to work with me. " By the way, Matt's last seizure was Feb 4th---BEFORE he started on NutriiVeda!! So he used to go only at most ~3 wks between seizures but now it has been a little over 8 weeks! So..for anyone who is nervous to try or allow their child to try NutriiVeda, RELAX. ESP if you already have your doc's or your child's doc's approval! REMEMBER---- NutriiVeda is a FOOD. So being nervous to try it would be the same as being nervous to try any other food---a new cereal, a granola bar, etc, etc. BTW--- I drink it, my husband drinks it, and both of my kids are drinking it. My son loves it and my dtr has taken some convincing-- -we started with 'doctoring' her shake---ice cream!---AND I convinced my mom to start drinking it too---we are 'doctoring' hers too.
