Guest guest
My son just turned 5. He's been taking Dr. Sears " strawberry treats. " (fish oil- 2/day). He loves them. They've repackaged them and the little I could read, I think they added vitamins to it. If I do the NV, I need to have him on just pure fish oil (no additional vitamins), correct? I take nordic naturals fish oil myself. Does anyone give the nordic natural gummies (tangerine fish/strawberry worms) to their kids? It says one/day, but the mg. of omega 3's doubles for the fish. Just wondering what would be a good amount to give him. Thinking the strawberry worms might be better since he liked the " strawberry treats. " Thanks for any info. Guest guest
Both the worms and the fishies that Nordic Naturals makes for kids are not the dosages most of us have used, but for sure you could use 2 of them...and try that without the GLA (primrose or borage seed oil) but it's going to cost way more than the capsules for you. The following for example is for the Fishies as the worms are even lower in mg of Omegas EPA is 34 and DHA is 22 per worm. One Fish Contains: EPA: 68 mg DHA: 45 mg Other Omega-3s: 23 mg Nordic Omega-3 Fishies And because they both are around 30 dollars for around 30 fishies or worms- they come out to around a dollar a fish or worm. Compare that to 90 capsules of ProEFA for 20.35 online http://www.speech411.com which contains 1 ProEFA capsule (American testing) 148 mg of EPA, 98 mg of DHA, 180 mg 36 mg. of GLA (from borage seed oil) There's also coromega you can try that's got an orange flavor? http://www.coromega.com/ so maybe more kid friendly? But no -wouldn't use any fish oils mixed with vitamins now as the NV will provide all the essentials http://pursuitofresearch.org/products/nutriiveda/nutriiveda-ingredients/ and from food which is the best way! =====
Guest guest
Thanks for info. I ordered the ProEFA Jr. over the weekend, so we'll try it. The ProEFA Jr. mentioned something about the new Jr. adding a little E to it. Is it still at ok levels if used with NV? Also, would you start NV a little later than the fish oils? How much later? And is it ok to open the capsule and put it in oj? I take the nordic natural liquids and put it in oj and really don't taste a difference. Thanks for info. -marie ________________________________ From: kiddietalk <kiddietalk@...> Sent: Sun, March 13, 2011 8:08:14 PM Subject: [ ] Re: nordic naturals gummies Both the worms and the fishies that Nordic Naturals makes for kids are not the dosages most of us have used, but for sure you could use 2 of them...and try that without the GLA (primrose or borage seed oil) but it's going to cost way more than the capsules for you.
