Guest guest
Hi Robin, Once we get our school day rolling here I'll have Garrett compose an intro and we would love to give it a try, I never know what will " mess " and won't everyday can be a new adventure and then everyday can have the same struggles!! G loves to play games as well just got Clue DVD board game for christmas loves to play not very good at deductive reasoning yet go figure. Thanks for the response. By the way is your son a GFCF diet kid, G has a lot to say about this and it's not all good but would love to know he is not the only one who has this crazy mom who won't allow pizza of all things anymore!! Have a great day Katy
Guest guest
Thanks for the welcome and hugs, I would love to hear from a few of you that have older kids that have recently gone to GFCF diets. There are changes in his focus, word finding word organizing abilities and meltdowns, but he is not convinced. If asked he says he has gone to the " dark side " {stars wars reference} on this diet now that we have done it at 11 yrs, anyone have a great pizza, or donought recommendation a sandwich bread would be nice too so long as I'm asking. Our DAN doc is great and supplements going well. Thanks again Katy
Guest guest
Sorry to hear of your grandson's trouble. School is so hard and in reality is such a small part of life on the whole, home school has been great for us. WE are in rural MO closest big town with resources about 1 hour away so finding friends for Garrett has been tough. He has no real concept of the fact he is not alone. Guest guest
Hi. Can't wait for the email. As far as GFCF,,,,no, we're not. We try to buy GF if it's there. We try to stay away from dye,,,,,especially red. As far as dairy........ha ha.....no. We've tried soy and the other stuff.....no way. We buy certain ice cream bars that are dairy free........they're awesome........but we've never done other stuff. Just being out of school, for the most part, made him a lot better. He's still Ian. W do Omega's and a few vitamins...... Anyway,,,,,,,,,, I've heard really good things about GFCF,,,,,,,,,,,,Especially if there's stomach probs, etc. We never had that.............thank God. Try to stay as "natural" and away from "boxes" as possible. *** What do you do? Do you buy from certain stores? Does your whole fam do GFCF? Guest guest
I saw in ad in the Autism Advocate magazine for a company www.orgran.com that had everything Gluten, Wheat, Egg, Dairy, Yeast, Casein, and GMO free. I haven't tried it yet but I'm going to give it a try. Thought I'd pass along the info. and/or Robin Lemke <jrisjs@...> wrote: Hi. Can't wait for the email. As far as GFCF,,,,no, we're not. Guest guest
My 16 yo son with asperger's and add has the same issues. He tried so hard to make friends that he bought an ipod for a friend for Christmas present once. I have also noticed that he stopped trying this year, and began to spend more time on his computer. It really worries me, but I don't know what to do about it. quline12 wrote: > > My son is 18 with aspergers. He used to want to make friends. I share your concerns, since my son fluctuates between dearly wanting friends and deciding he is fine without any. At times he is angry, other times depressed. The unpredictable mood swings related to his inability to form friendships is heartbreaking. I am new to this group, so I appreciate this sharing, especially when it's been so many years searching for the diagnosis, knowing, as he did, that it must have a name. Thanks for sharing. Guest guest
I am hoping some of you can help me with this problem. My daughter Chandler, 5, is having trouble making friends at school. I believe the problem is compounded by her SPD, since kids can be so unpredictable. They still seem to kick in her “fight or flight†response. And of course, you add in trouble with speech, and you think, “where do I start?†Meyer
