I have just joined, and thought I would say hi.

My name is Steve, I'm 42, and am slowly dieting in order to

progress into CR in the near future. I have two reasons for

undertaking CR: Firstly, I want to live a long time (I'm a

scientist, and I want to see as much of possible of what will

be an incredible century), and secondly for health reasons.

I have a tendency to catch whatever colds and viruses go

around, and the feeling of well-being and disease resistance

I have heard go with CR sounds wonderful.

I'm only interested in mild CR - I want to look trim, but not

ill.

Does anyone have an suggestions about how slowly I should progress

towards CR? I have been mildly overweight for most of my life,

but I seem to be managing to lose a pound or two each week.

Also, any suggestions as to how I could eventually persuade my

partner Jon to try CR at some time in the future?
