Guest guest
So far, for my 3 year old, MB12 has been the most effective. It does kick up his yeast and I am trying to figure out how to control that. He has a ton of words but they aren't that clear. Prior to MB12 he was so frustrated and couldn't get any word approximations out. We are happy with the MB12! Guest guest
I've read alot about MB12. Unfortunately we do not have a DAN doctor in our province. We are considering moving across the country to be closer to one in calgary. Manitoba pushes ABA and thats about it. Has anyone had any success with oral MB12 drops? I'll talk to the naturopath I deal with about the nasal spray but I don't think he can prescribe anything like that. I'm thinking the Ojibwa tea is a good idea as well. He has very smelly, soft orange stools with a lot of undigested food in it. The vitamin a protocol helped a bit with that but it just seems " less stinky " . I think his gut issues are more profound than his brother's. He needed colon massages at least twice a day as an infant. > > > > May I ask you all what improved or brought about speech in your kids? > > My 4 year old improved after epsom salts and gfcf diet but my 2 year > > old still isn't speaking. Guest guest
Try taking biotin for the yeast issue. It works great. Re: speech So far, for my 3 year old, MB12 has been the most effective. Guest guest
Please take a look at the Brainchild Nutritionals web site. See what all it has along with all their other great products. Loaded with the B's and a ton of stuff you'll find we all talk about in an easy to swallow liquid form. Love it! For me, getting my 8 year PDD-NOS son to swallow a capsule or any pill is still a nightmare. My 5 year nt son, a breeze. Did it once, DONE! So frustrating! Anyway, I just put the liquid in his juice. If I had to pay all that in liquid, chewable, or worse yet, it didn't come in the form, good luck! We are maybe 6 hours from Chicago, a couple hours from the twin cities. But with working, school, that's a lot of traveling and moving isn't going to happen for us. I'm seeing nice improvement on my son since starting enzymes last summer and now adding a probiotic, BC vit and minerals and doing a yeast protocol. Time will tell! BTW - if you saw my child when there is a shot involved, 85 lbs or fear, it isn't fun. We went through a hepatitis scare at preschool last spring and he got part 1, before diving into all this biomedical stuff guys. Anyway, so sad for him and how embarrassing! You'd think someone was trying to kill him and I went first, showed him, we talked about it, it just didn't matter! It took 3 people to hold him down. Kindergarten shots, three too. Guest guest
Did you use the dry tea? I can't imagine my 3 year old drinking it, but I want to try it. Their shipping is really high though. All of these places have unreasonable shipping rates I find! I paid $21 just to ship the No Fenol last month! I just want to make sure I get the right tea. If there is one that kids will drink I would like to get that one. Thanks! > > > > DMG had the most immediate effect, but enzymes and Ojibwa tea > combined with probiotics saw us through a consistent progression in > speech. > > speech > > > > > > May I ask you all what improved or brought about speech in your > kids? > > My 4 year old improved after epsom salts and gfcf diet but my 2 > year > > old still isn't speaking. Guest guest
The items used to cook and hold the tea once made were what I found to be expensive. Once those items were purchased, the cost runs about $50/mo. for us, we get the dry tea blend and a bottle of the Perfect Colon and that's shipping and tax. The tea really has no taste. They drink it warm and it's really not a problem. It's such a small amount to drink, we've never found it to be a problem, even with my rather opinionated 3 year old . The website is Ojibwatea.com. speech > > > > > > May I ask you all what improved or brought about speech in your > kids? > > My 4 year old improved after epsom salts and gfcf diet but my 2 > year > > old still isn't speaking. Guest guest
$21 is pretty outrageous. I buy our supplements from spectrumsupplements.ca for here in canada but they have an american site spectrumsupplements.com They've been reasonable for shipping. Guest guest
I would also try asdmarket.com and check their rates. I get a lot of supplements from them because they have a ton of stuff and it saves me from ordering from a bunch of places and paying shipping all over the place. My kids did very well with oral mB12 [i used sublinguals], along with folic acid and carnitine. It does tend to increase yeast, so watch for that. At my house, biotin and GSE eliminated yeast. Guest guest
Hi Sorry for jumping in your conversation... Which province are you from? We are from Quebec and soon we will be starting b12 shots for my son. There is a great DAN! that my son is being followed by. We are still in the beginning stages of his custom made protocol and once we clean him up they will prescribe the b12 shots which apparently we can give him on his butt... Yikes, I am petrified.....I will cross that when I am there though..any suggestions to make this process easy? Dana question for you pls. You said you gave your kid b12 orally . Are they as effective as the shots. When we got back our results from the DAN! the only thing that jumped out for my son was that he needed b12, BIG TIME. They told us orally won't be as effective, is this true? Heleni danasview <danasview@...> wrote: > > I've read alot about MB12. Unfortunately we do not have a DAN doctor > in our province. Guest guest
I found the shots to be a lot more effective in our case but that may be because my son didn't let the sublingual disolve completely. I am not sure but we do the shots every other day now because we saw such improvements socially. We are even thinking about doing them daily. Guest guest
I'm in Ontario, we're up in Sudbury. There is no DAN! here, there is not much of anything here! We're here because my husband is a journalist/reporter for CBC radio. I don't like it at all. I used the MB12 sublinguals for my daughter. She responded well to them. I stopped because I had to get a better handle on her yeast. I know the regular oral b12 isn't absorbed well, but the sublinguals are absorbed very well. I am getting some carnitine to make she she absorbs all of her supps. > > > > I've read alot about MB12. Unfortunately we do not have a DAN doctor > > in our province. > > Give it orally. Guest guest
> Dana question for you pls. You said you gave your kid b12 orally .. Are they as effective as the shots. I have never used shots, so I can't make a direct comparison. I used oral/sublingual mB12, which required folic acid and carnitine for proper absorption. But it worked VERY WELL. My kids are now fully loaded with B12. >>When we got back our results from the DAN! the only thing that jumped out for my son was that he needed b12, BIG TIME. They told us orally won't be as effective, is this true? Depends. If the child's gut does not properly absorb nutrients, it won't be absorbed very well. That is why shots, nasal spray, or sublinguals are recommended. [sublinguals absorb quite a bit under the tongue.] When I started oral mB12, my kids were already fully chelated, so their guts properly absorbed everything. Guest guest
I'm in Manitoba. There's nothing happening as far as biomedical information here as far as I can ascertain. With 2 boys seemingly on the spectrum, it's frustrating not to have guidance. As for as my 4 year old son, one doctor told me, " People will tell you to try lots of things but nothing will work. " So glad I didn't listen! Thanks to everyone who suggested Brainchild. I started supplementing them with it last night and my youngest is really babbling today. Could be the start of something! As far as the MB12, I'd like to try it orally. I'm curious about adding it in when they get such high doses of B vitamins from their multivitamins already. Any thoughts? Guest guest
Hi Dana, I had a question for you about the folic acid. We just started our son on the MB12 shots and I was wondering how would I know if the MB12 needed the folic acid? Currently he does not get it.
