Guest guest
Fascinating view on brain functioning and neuroplasticity by Dr. Rudolph Tanzi and Dr. Deepak Chopra Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded & v=D0m4ruupgZs Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWR91yk30LI & feature=relmfu Here's a link about Dr. Tanzi who is Professor of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital http://www.hms.harvard.edu/dms/neuroscience/fac/tanzi.html And of course many of you already know who Dr. Chopra is as in addition to everything else he's one of the world renowned medical doctors behind the formulation of NV -so a hero in my book!!! http://pursuitofresearch.org/endorsed-by-the-chopra-center/ And how I responded to these videos Thank you Dr. Chopra and Dr. Tanzi for a brilliant and refreshing view! But we're left with a cliff hanger!! Dr. Chopra you say in those with Alzheimer's the brain/instument is not working but the self / the real you is still there. Would love to hear that talk as well. Also it's funny to me that Dr. Tanzi brought up the stomach as a point to compare organ to organ for our view of the brain. While of course most would look at the stomach and the brain as completely different organs and they are, more research today points to essential nutrients as key in epigenics and neuroplasticity. So in theory the stomach has the ability to be more powerful than the brain, especially when the brain isn't working. So when the brain isn't working well, and we can't seem to get through to those individuals to change through thought, we can perhaps help repair or help the brain through diet. In our nonprofit which deals mainly with communication impairments and diagnosis such as autism, TBI, seizures and apraxia we've seen remarkable success with essential fatty acids and now with essential amino acids and nutrients as well through the diet. I have quite a few parental and professional anecdotal reports such as this one for Alzheimer's http://pursuitofresearch.com/2010/11/22/is-nutriiveda-creating-a-paradigm-shift-\ in-diseases-of-the-elderly/ which speak volumes to me that nutrition is yet another tool for the self. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/deepak-chopra/mind-brain-genes-and-neur_b_846198.h\ tml I brought up Alzheimer's because Dr. Chopra did -and it is Dr. Tanzi's focus. Very interesting! =====
