Guest guest
All, Today marks my one year anniversary of being on the Walford Cron lifestyle (I do consider it a lifestyle now and not a diet). It has had an amazing impact on my self, as well as my family (38 year old wife, 6 and 8 year old daughters) who have followed to foods if not eh calorie restriction. I am a 39 year old male, 5'9 " currently weighing 161.5 (down from 205), a gradual loss of 43.5 pounds. I considered myself overweight then but muscular as I worked out 5 times a week with mild weight lifting twice a week. I now workout maybe twice a week (weight lifting once a week) and now tell family and friends I gave up exercising and lost 40+ pounds (gotta have some fun with this). My blood presure is down from 120/80 to 100/70, cholesterol from 205 to 184 (damn, should be lower since I have heart disease in the family). I do not check anything else out. I eat arround 1800-2000 calories a day. I eat three full meals, an afternoon snack, and an after dinner snack. Breakfats always includes 1 cup skim milk, a grain (cereal, whole wheat bagel, whole wheat toast, cron pancakes), and fruit. Lunch always has plenty of raw vegetables, meat (fish, chicken, turkey), a grain or legume. Afternoon snack is fat free yogurt (or cottage cheese), nuts or seeds and fruit. Dinner id cooked veges, a potato (sweet or white) or grain (brown rice) or pasta (whole wheat), and meat (fish, beef, chicken, pork). Dinner snack can be fruit, crackers, dry cereal, dry fruit, whatever. I do eat lean red meat such as pork and beef (usually 2-3 times per month). I have Pizza (real Italian Pizza from NY guys) 2-3 times per month. I eat out as much as two little girls allow. I enjoy my time off without worrying too much about CRON (eat healthy, not concerned with calories, and I eat REAL ice cream). This time off amounted to 2 week vacation last July, the Christmas/New Years holiday, and recently Spring (Easter) recess week. I gained no moer than one pound each time, and soon lost it. Things I DO NOT eat: Tofu, brewer's yeast, seaweed. Most of my food I get from the local vege/fich market or the supermarket. I go to the health food staore only for whole grains (wild and brown rice, wheat germ, millet, etc...) and Brazilian nuts. I do supplement with 500 mg Vitamin C, 400 UI vitamin E, one Brazilian nut a day, one multi-vitamin. Finally, I do try and prepare mega-meals recommended by Walford although lately I have not had the time. Here's to another 81 year's of the Cron Life Style.
