As Robin said: the occasional indulgence is fine. In the long run it's calories consumed over your lifetime. So if you binge on something, just go easy for the rest of the day.

Hubbie and I were invited to a " Jewish soul food " brunch this weekend (bagels, lox, salads with full fat mayo, lots of cakes and sweets etc). Who would have the power to resist? I do have more will power than I used to (plus I can't stuff myself like I used to because after a while you get an " au natural " CR stomach stapling effect) . But I did have 1/2 a bagel (bagels are very high in cal) and some of everything else, including a small sampling of cake.

However, I never bring these foods into the house and so I feel free to indulge socially, when at a fete every once in while. And I made sure we had a lite dinner - salad & some chicken for protein.
