OT: Asthma medications and chelating

Hi everyone.

My now 7 year old son has been chelating using Andy's protocol for

the past 3 years with great success. (He is essentially recovered,

but still some lingering issues). We took about 4 months off

recently because we had a new baby.

During the break, in early October, our son developed asthma (he

also has severe peanut and tree nut allergy, and milk allergy). We

were in intensive care, and despite all the albuterol, steroid

drugs, etc., the only drug that finally got his airways open again

was magnesium sulfate. We had been giving him regular Epsom Salt

baths prior to the episode and have been continuing to give them to

him.

Since this episode, he was put on Flovent, 2 squirts twice a day.

He fell apart. Very emotional, unpleasant. So, I asked the Dr., to

switch him to Singulair. He stopped sleeping well. So, we dropped

his dose in half. Still, he was up 2 or 3 times per night. It was

a disaster. He had dark circles under his eyes constantly.

I took him off of everything (with the Dr.'s blessing). We chelated

3 rounds using Andy's protocol (DMPS and ALA every 3-4 hours). He

was finally starting to return to his former self. And, he got a

cold, very congested, and then he had an asthma attack. We had to

put him on the nebulizer, (this time we used xoeponex--much better),

and we had to give him the prednisone (we are on day 3 of 5 days).

Now the doctor wants to put him back on the Singulair. I am not

sure I want to do this. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

My main questions are:

1. Does Singulair actually help prevent an asthma attack when it is

virus-induced? I am thinking maybe it only works during allergy

season.

2. Does Singulair (and all of these other maintenance drugs) really

mess up a metal toxic child -- I think so, but want to hear what you

all have to say.

3. Does anyone have any natural remedies they have used

successfully to keep asthma symptoms at bay?

Thank you!!
