Guest guest
Hi All, Regarding: Secrets of Successful Dieters in Harvard Women's Health Watch, May 2002, chew on this one. The diet strategies of those with > 5 year weight loss of > 30 pounds were: 89% modified food intake and exercised. Also weighed themselves often. 88% limited certain types of foods. 44% reduced portion size. 44% counted calories. Most ate breakfast. 92% limited certain foods. 49% limited calories % from fat, 36% counted fat calories and 30% counted calories % from fat. 24% fat, 56% carbohydrates and 19% protein was the average diet. 44% average increases were seen in exercise. Also, in regainers, 77% did not exercise, rather than change diet or metabolic factors. Do numbers voting with their diets lie? Lies, damn lies and statitics? Cheers, Al.
