Guest guest
Thanks suzanne, francesca and mary for response on heart risk factors. I had read Beyond 120, and the work before that, but am just getting into CRON and was wondering whether there were people out there experiencing the benefits described in the book - it seems like from the BP and cholesterol biomarkers discussed in your messages, that it seems to be working. I'll have to assess my own results in a few months, as my cholesterol is at 245 (I'm not sure about the HDL.) I just turned 48 and its seems like the research indicates that there is some benefit in getting into CRON at any age, so I'm going to give it a try. I think I would be more partial to a more Paleo Diet, rather than one that emphasizes more highGI carbs, as Walford describes - what has anyone's experience been with that? Does it matter that much where the nutrition comes from, as long as the food is high quality and varied? Thanks again for advising a newcomer. If I gain some personal knowledge through this experience, I will certainly share it with the group. Thanks.
Guest guest
Hello , Read below: > Thanks suzanne, francesca and mary for response on heart risk factors. > I had read Beyond 120 snipped > I think I would be more partial to a more Paleo Diet, > rather than one that emphasizes more highGI carbs, as Walford > describes - what has anyone's experience been with that? Walford writes on page 104 : " At the present time, for the macronutrients I prefer the middle ground of a moderately low-fat diet, but with the emphasis on MUFAs and omega-3s, moderate protein intake, and the rest mostly low-GI carbohydrates. ( The diet of the Paleolithic man derived 20 percent of its calories from fat.) " >Does it matter that much where the nutrition comes from, as long as >the food is high quality and varied? I believe this was answered by the same paragraph. Bob
