Guest guest
Hi Keri: Getting teeth late can be a sign of thyroid problems. Google " hypothyroidism children " and maybe, symptoms. If he has any other symptoms of a poorly functioning thyroid, I would have your ped/dr/yourself check his Free T3 and free T4 levels. Good luck, [ ] Very late and odd painful teething...OT I have 2 kids, both on the spectrum and undergoing bio-med treatment (s). My question is about my 19mo son. He has his top and bottom 4 teeth (not all) the way down...but through the gums. He has now skipped to trying to get his molars. One side there is just a point sticking out (top) the other side is trying but he just gets a big covering of gum over it and it has yet to pop through. Now on the bottom he is trying to push one through but it is just a big red painful hole. It looks like there may be a tooth in there but even though he only has a few teeth sticking your fingers in his mouth for too long is dangerous ;-0 I have asked dentists they said as long as he has his front ones. I asked out ped. and he said the typical " late bloomer " I asked our Naturopath and he said it is due to his delayed development. My daughter was nothing like this. Is there anything I can do? Anything the I can do to help speed this along? Anything I should get right to a specialist...but who? Any advice or stories are apprieciated. Emails welcome.
