Guest guest
Below is the smoothie recipe that I have been using. I based this off of the the smoothie recipe Greg had posted on the main site. I've modified it a bit. Replaced coconut milk with dry milk and added wheat germ and brewer's yeast. The below nutrition numbers do not include the Wolfberries. I am yet to find good nutritional information for these. The other thing to note is that this smoothie has a high ORAC rating. 1/2 Medium Bananas, raw (59g) 1 Kiwi (76g) 10 Prunes (84g) 1/2 cup Blueberries (72.5g) 1/2 cup Strawberries (72g) 1 tbps Whey protein powder (2.9g) 1/3 cup Milk, dry, nonfat, regular, with added vitamin A (39.6g) 1 cup Water, bottled, poland spring 1/4 cup Wheat germ (28.8g) 1 tbsp Brewer's Yeast, Debittered (8g) 10g Wolfberries NUTRIENT TOTALS: Abs. Guest guest
Great ideas Dana. I can make it even easier for you - assuming you can tolerate milk products OK. I use the EAS Carb Control pre-mixed protein drinks when I am in a hurry. They have about 15 grams of protein each (soy protein). I add a scoop of Isopure. (Tthis is my favorite because if I am really in a hurry and need to get my protein in this mixes very easily with just water and is palatable even like that. It comes in vanilla, strawberry and chocolate and is available at GNC. It is cheaper though on the web at www.isopureoutlet.com.) To this I also add frozen fruit. I slice the bananas on a cookie sheet and when frozen solid I put them in a zip lock bag. That way I can use as few or as many as I like. I also keep frozen strawberries, peaches and blueberries. Target Superstore even carries bags of mixed frozen fruit for smoothies. If the fruit is not very sweet I add a packet of Sweet-N-Low. If I want it really chocolate I use the chocolate EAS and add chocolate Isopure with a few frozen bananas. YUMMY! The frozen blueberries with vanilla EAS and a little Sweet-N-Low is quite good too - very purple - but very good. I plan on stocking up soon on the sugar free syrups from Vitalady too. She doesn't ship in the coldest winter months so if anyone is looking at getting some syrup you should get them now. in GA > Smoothie Recipe > > > Dana’ Protein Smoothie Recipe > > > > Basic Recipe > > Into a blender place > > ¼ cup Almond Milk ( there is no cow’s milk in this product; > it is made from crushed almonds; look on the grocer shelf > where you find soy milk in boxes) > > ¼ cup Plain Yogurt > > 1 scoop Vanilla or chocolate Designer Whey protein powder from GNC > > add I packet of SweetNLow or other sweetener. > > > > Blend until smooth.
