I agree with Francesca about eating out. We eat out

frequently and I find it easier to do than eat at home

where there ate so many choices. I order a lean

protein entree ie., lean beef, fish, chicken, etc., a

salad with lemon or with dressing on the side ala

Francesca, pass on the bread, and order a cooked

vegetable in place of pasta or potato. Last night was

my husband's birthday. I treated and had a glass of

merlot, a thick grilled tuna steak (ate half), a

wonderful Italian salad, and steamed vegetables. No

deprivation there. I eyeballed my portions and came in

under 600 calories.

I also love Chinese. I try to eat with chopsticks

which slows me down. Also no rice, noodles, egg roll

or sauces but LOTS of shrimp, chicken, and veggies

from the wonderful buffet.

Some Chinese places will cook with no added oil if you ask. There's a great

CR-friendly Chinese place near where I live called something like " Healty

China Bistro " That makes no added oil dishes, light sauces, etc. Lots of

choices.
