Guest guest
Hi Laurie, I went to http://onibasu.com/ and put in " ALA headache " and got some good hits on the A-M archives. It looks like other people have experienced them. Are you doing every 3 hours? I wonder if you would feel better on 2.5 hours. Guest guest
Yes, try 2.5 or even every 2 hours. Make sure you are supplying E, natural d-alpha, not dl-alpha, 400 IU once a day and C, B's, magnesium and zinc 3-4 times a day. Chelators create a lot of oxidative stress, so the antioxidants are very important. Good luck, [ ] ALA side effects........... I just wanted to make sure we weren't crazy or something. I began chelating myself, my daughter and my 2 year old ASD son today. We are doing Andy's protocol and all supplements and that part has gone smooth. We are only taking 1/8 mg/ # of ALA. My daughter and I have had intermittent headaches all day and been extremely tired. The tired doesn't phase me really, but the headaches are concerning me. Has anyone experienced this? If we decrease the dose, will it ehlp or do we live with this? My son seems fine, but he is non-verbal, so I can't be sure. Thanks for any help, Laurie G =======================================================
Guest guest
Try some magnesium. Usually when my kids get headaches from chelating, they need a magnesium boost. Try increasing your yeast protocol, see if that helps. Dana
Guest guest
Another thing that may help is Lots of Hydration too. Make sure you push plenty of fluids. Plenty of water up to 10-12. (.8 oz glasses a day for an adult) Kenny V > > I just wanted to make sure we weren't crazy or something. I began > chelating myself, my daughter and my 2 year old ASD son today. Guest guest
Yes! My husband got this. He spent his first round in bed with a terrible headache (He never gets headache that was a first for him). On his second round, the headache only lasted one day and then he did not get any the following rounds. Same for my son, he was non-verbal at that time but was holding his head in his hands: one hand on his forehead, the other hand behind his ear. Andy suggested CoQ10. I also got headaches at my first round but not as pronounced. I did feel very sick and was in bed most of the week end... First 2-3 rounds with ALA are difficult in my family... we did not started chelation at the same time, so there was only one person sick at a time.. > > I just wanted to make sure we weren't crazy or something. Guest guest
I've had these horrible headaches too. I haven't been able to complete and ALA only round, though an ALA/DMSA worked, but still had a few symptoms. Have you consider adding magnesium to see if it might help?
