Guest guest
I received these questions off list from a newbie: > I know this is a real newbie question but if you put aside set point how do > you know: > 1) When you have " crossed over " so to speak, into a weight/caloric intake > zone where you are experiencing the health benefits of cr? > > 2) How do you know when you have gone to far? 1) If you've read Walford, then you know there's a series of blood tests that will confirm you're truly on CR as well as some tests you can do yourself - such as blood pressure for one. There is a site that gives you all the tests you should take: http://www.infinitefaculty.org/sci/cr/bloodtests.htm. If you also have the bloodwork done pre-CR, which is highly recommended, you'll have a basis to gauge changes. 2. As to how you'll know if you've gone " too far " - you don't. We are human guinea pigs. Unfortunately some cronies have gone too far with some bad results: anorexia (ask Alan Pater), osteoporosis (several of us), to name two unfortunate health risks of overdoing it. The best thing, therefore, is to eat a wide variety of foods, go slow, and take everything in moderation, moderation, moderation.
