(snipped) Mike: not sure I understand your question. You cite some lab experiments with the OB/OB mice eating the same # of cal as the slender mice. I looked in my copy of BT120YD and couldn't find the particulars of this experiment. What I did find however, and which has been previously discussed, is that the OB/OB mice that were on CR lived even longer than the skinny mice (so I guess the answer to your question is yes, they received the benefits of CR). But we all know that in real life, everyone needs a different # of calories to produce the slow steady wt loss desired. Which is why Walford doesn't say: " Everyone should be on 1500 cal a day " . Rather he says: Experiment to see if you're losing too fast - if so add more Cal; and if losing too slow, delete some cal. We're all unique, and we're not mice, so I'm not sure your example applies.
