Although " Beyond the 120 year Diet " is more the book you want to read if you want the nitty gritty information on nutrition and how to do CRON. " Maximum Lifespan " is more a philosophy tract - a vivid argument on *why* lifespan extension is desirable. It explains current (I think they are still current) biases against anti-aging research, surveys attitudes toward death across the centuries, talks of Walfords search for Yogi's who can lower their body temperature by will and also of course talks about CR but with nowhere near the details of " Beyond the 120 .. " . It is a seamless integration of science and humanities which as a layman (laywoman, whatever I quite admire and is all around interesting reading. Hopefully it will have you pumped to do (or continue as the case may be) CR. Do read " Beyond the 120 year diet " as well though if you haven't yet. Joanne, I have only The Anti-Aging Plan by Walford.... I looked for more Walford books in a mall book store in Las Vegas. They did not have it..and the clerk looked it up and said it was " pretty old " . I could order it but I had wanted to eyeball it first. Wonder if it is so old whether the library would have it. If your library doesn't , they can probably order from another library. The latest one T120YD should be your " bible " (if you want/need one); the others are quite dated. I recommend buying a copy to refer to, but while you're waiting to buy, or if you want to economize, go get it from the library.
