Guest guest
Francesca and all, I tried to post this earlier but I think the message got zapped into cyberspace. I noticed others were having problems too. Francesca asked about high zinc food other than oysters. Beef is very high in zinc, as well as iron (which is difficult for the body to absorb from veges), and selenium. A 6 oz siloin steak with all fat trimmed is 365 calories and has 71% RDA'a of zinc, 55% iron, 151% selenium, 237% B12. As we know it does have a high amount of fat (particulatly saturated fat)so moderation in fat intake is important that day. Add a baked sweet potato, a large stalk of brocholi, half a cup of FF yogurt with 5 stawberries and you pretty much a Walford mega-meal for 665 calories. Not bad for the classic old American meat and potatos meal. I tend to eat beef 3-4 times a month. Not a steady diet of it, but enough.
