Guest guest
Many CRONies eat relatively low carb. I think it is misleading to imply to newbies that CRON cannot be low carb. There are raging debates on the main list about this - there is no consensus. There is even the recent naming of these 2 approaches as " Z " and " W " . Those of us at very low calorie levels have to eat somewhat low carb (though not Atkins) to get the protein and nutrients we need. Grains are too low protein and nutrient-poor for the calories. I personally try to get the RDA+ and 60+ g of protein out of natural foods and keep my KCAL below 1100. My motto is " Eat things with seeds, leaves, and bones " . I feel much better on less than 90g of carbs a day, have much more energy and less hunger. There are many on the list that are like me, and many that are different. This is not an endorsement of Atkins. I think his diet is unhealthy.

Other carbs such as green veggies and fruits are a mainstay of the vast majority of CRONIES (as well as Walford's diet). That seems like what you're saying and indeed that's what we recommend in the support files. I myself try to eat such a diet.
Guest guest
Duncan, I know that low carb is best but I'm doing the best I can right now. I recently eliminated all wheat and dairy except for Kefir occasionally and realize that I need to reduce the other carbs. I'm REALLY struggling with this diet. It's not very appealing to eat meat and veggies all day long. I'm really having a difficult time for breakfast especially because I can't eat eggs. I had chicken this morning and really had to force it. This is depressing:( > Isn't it amazing the lengths some people will go to to break their > sugar- and starch-free diet? > > Lynn, those foods grow candida big-time.
