Ronco salad shooter for 3 easy payments of $14.99. Buy now and they will throw in a Popeil Pocket fishing rod! (just kidding!) But actually there is such a thing as a salad shooter by Presto...my suggestion is to turn on some music and find someone to talk to while you make your salad. C-Ya Salad Shooter Website

Subject: [ ] Chopping made easy ???

I just made about 3 or 4 days worth of salad, using most the things mentioned by walford. Seems that the bulk of the time was spent chopping. I was kind of doing this one chopped piece at a time with a big knife. Is there a way to throw all this crap in some super machine that will chop it all up at once?

AHA! You need to discover the joys of great knives! My favorites are German-made. You don't need a whole big expensive set, but one big chopping knife and one paring knife will do you. Then you need to keep them reeeeeally sharp. I honestly use a little electric knife sharpener, but this is almost sacreligious to true knife affectionados. When you have a razor sharp knife, slicing all that stuff becomes a fine art form. (Or else an act of war--paint your face blue and don a kilt.)

Suz! Don't tell people about the kilt and the body paint...you how it embarrasses Steve when you start sharing that kind of info! :-)
