Guest guest
Eczema. Cortaid will get rid of it fast. It has something to do with allergy, either food allergy or maybe TD something. Long term treatment depends on it's source. Guest guest
But if it was allergy wouldn't it be all over his body and not in just butt cheeks and thighs? Guest guest
Hi Jeanne; Our kid, and another parent (whose email I can give you offline if you want to email me) had this eczema in the same place. Giving her description, " on the thigh just below the buttocks " . She admits to not finding out what it was, and only says it seemed to occur during potty training. In our case it happened prior to potty training, and may have even been due to a toxic spill (diarrhea) not properly cleaned up. But it was odd that it was in exactly the same place as she described, and even presented like eczema. And in our case it was so quickly cleared up by the Coraid, that eczema became my immediate assumption (as always there is a chance I could be wrong). Cortaid has proven affective in the treatment of eczema, hives, poison ivy, and even other allergic reactions on the skin (yes, even zits). The active ingredient, hydrocortisone, is a steroid anti- inflammatory. I don't know much more about that. Some parents have expressed that the eczema is only the tip of the ice berg, indicating what's happening inside the body. That's why it's important to find the source. One parent claimed the eczema stopped after taking away corn and wheat. Another parent claimed it stopped after switching to No Phenol enzyme. And that's all I know about that! Good luck to you. Guest guest
Hi Jeanne; Correction... " Our kid, and another parent's kid " (the parent reporting the details, the symptom in the kid)... Guest guest
Sorry to pound this subject. It occurred to me that if one parent squelched the eczema with No Phenol, and another parent cured it by removing corn and wheat, that maybe the eczema is an allergic reaction taking place to some gut yeast byproduct? Sounds like a good theory anyways.
